Friendships with (P)TSD

readingeatingtea February 17th, 2018

I've known for a long time that I have problems relating to people and maintaining friendships. This winter I started seeing a therapist and was diagnosed with Traumatic Stress Disorder.

My doctor says it's normal for me to feel distant and disconnected, but the problem is that I know it's bothersome and strange to the people around me. I have a few friends I've talked to about the diagnosis, but largely the reaction is kind of skeptical. I feel like a Romulan on planet earth.

@readingeatingtea

I am sorry to hear about it Tea. Could understand how difficult friendships be for you. And it seems natural to get skeptical reactions from people around us because many are not aware about the Ptsd and its impact..

we all are here with you to support and talk about anything. Be with us and feel free to connect. Appreciate your efforts for reaching out to therapist. They will treat and help you to live a better life. All will hopefully get better Tea. Hugs 💕
