Pain
It comes in waves
Sometimes taking you on a ride
Sometimes suppressing you so bad
That giving up seems like the only resort
Pain
Demands to be felt
Dodge it or not
It will kiss your very emotion
Until you succumb and dread
Whimpering in its arms
Pain
Isn't mutual
It comes to those who do their very best
Who keep swimming
Till they reach the shore
