A small excerpt

I wrote a short poem when I was feeling down, thought I would share here! If anyone else is going through something similar please feel free to know that your worth can and never will be diminished by anyone! 

I have bitten my tongue,

Swallowed myself whole,

Just to open myself for you.

Jealous of the way you shine,

Your words tantalize,

How could I refuse?

A warmth that melts all who touches it,

Engulfed by a light that’s not mine.

I twitch and burn,

How could I have been such a fool?

Maybe my light shone too brightly,

But it was just a glimmer,

Why punish a light that’s brighter,

So it can swallow itself for you?
