Leadership Spotlight: Jenna

...See more This month I have the honor of highlighting one of our longest-standing listeners, @Jenna! You may know Jenna from their work as lead of the Peer Support program and in LSR.  Message from the nominator: They are really good mentor and really know how to keep the LSR intact and running smoothly, This crm have master of knowledge that they help with any questions that come up. I just want to give an example where this crm went above and beyond. There were 2 listeners need cs and this listener offered to give cs to both. They really know how to handle things when it gets tough in the LSR but are willing to have laid-back chats when it’s time for that. Some other shoutouts from the Admin Team who have all worked with Jenna over the years; Jenna!! Congratulations on this great achievement. Well deserved for all your work. - EvelyneRose Congratulations Jenna! Your hard work and dedication truly shows. Keep shining brightly! - Bookworm4 Thank you for your thoughtful leadership in the Peer Support program. Your dedication, expertise, and careful work continued to play a pivotal role in the PS team's success. I'm grateful to have had you at the helm.  Working with you has been a learning experience, and thank you for guiding us. Congratulations Jenna for this milestone! -Obs Jenna, your presence in the community is a comforting light. Thank you for your guidance, kindness, and all the careful dedication you put into your work. - SoulfullyAButterfly Jenna, your commitment to fostering a supportive community has not gone unnoticed! Congratulations on being chosen for the 7Cups Leadership Spotlight. Your empathy and guidance inspire us all. Here's to the positive impact you continue to make! - CheeryMango Many things have changed over time but your presence in LSR remains unchanged. Thank you for providing support in LSR even after all these years and for all the work you have done as a leader on 7 Cups! - Hope Jenna is a person with a huge heart. She cares deeply for the people she mentors and understands the importance of empathy and really seeing the world through another person's eyes. Jenna also has real grit, perseverance and determination. She shows courage and strength and is a reminder to all of us that with support we can all become more resilient and stronger. Indeed, she has helped many of us find strength in times of need. Jenna, thank you for you service to our community - Glen 🌮 Interview with Jenna! What motivates you to be a volunteer? I'm motivated to volunteer by a deep sense of empathy and a desire to contribute positively to the community. Being able to make a difference, even in small ways, brings me a great sense of fulfillment. Additionally, I see volunteering as an opportunity to connect with others, learn new things, and grow personally and professionally. Ultimately, knowing that my efforts can have a meaningful impact on someone else's life is what drives me to volunteer. Your proudest 7 Cups achievement. 1. That I managed to hang on for 10 years. 2. Helping someone through a difficult time and witnessing their growth and resilience. I had a long-term member a couple of years ago who has since moved on from the site. They went through some very hard things, and they were able to find their way to grow and become stronger from when we talked on day 1. Which fellow 7 Cups leader(s) do you admire and why? There are so many I adore and admire. Too many to name without writing an essay. One person who stands out to me is @InternalAcceptance. We have known each other for years now, which feels like it's been forever. They understand me more than anyone on this site and know how to meet me at my logic. They have also been a dedicated leader to this site for years and I admire their guidance and support. Which active listening skills help you when communicating with your teammates and fellow leaders? Empathy and open-mindedness. Open-mindedness comes with realizing we are a diverse community and each culture and person has a different perspective and way of how things are done. Empathy comes in with understanding the hard work and dedication it takes to be here, support others, and work on projects while managing real life. If you had one piece of advice for our community (leaders/listeners/members/etc), what would it be? If I could offer one piece of advice for our community, it would be to prioritize empathy and understanding in all interactions. Whether you're a leader, listener, or member, approaching others with empathy fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected. Take the time to listen to others actively, seek to understand their perspectives, and respond with kindness and compassion. By cultivating empathy within our community, we can build stronger connections, resolve conflicts more effectively, and create a space where everyone feels heard and supported. Oh yeah, and don't forget that self-care in the famous words of @CommunityModIris! - Congratulations, Jenna! Thank you for your service! Have you worked with Jenna? Let us know in the replies!
Leadership Spotlight: JustSophia

...See more This month we celebrate a very inspirational Quality Mentor, @JustSophia! From the nominator: Sophia is a diligent and dedicated leader who always puts forth her best effort. Whether you ask for help or she notices that you're struggling, Sophia is quick to offer her assistance. She possesses great patience and wisdom while remaining open-minded and able to tackle any challenge. Her kind and friendly demeanor makes her a pleasure to work with, and I am very proud of her. Here are a few more shoutouts: "Sophia, I'm so proud of you for everything you've accomplished so far on Cups. It's be a great opportunity to watch you grow into the incredible listener that you are. I look forward to seeing where you go from here." - AnnaS "JustSophia is an absolutely fantastic listener and Quality Mentor. They are really kind, smart and empathetic and truly have a heart of gold. I feel that they truly believe this spotlight, their contributions to our community is wonderfully wonderful 😊✨ Thank you for all the amazing work you do here on Cups, Sophia ❤️" - IA "Sophia, your passion for our community is noticeable in your thoughtful approach to quality. I see you proactively mentoring listeners and being such an incredible support in the forums. You are without a doubt an extraordinary leader. Thank you for all you do!" - Glen Now for a Q&A with Sophia! What motivates me to be a volunteer: I became a Listener at 7 cups because I find it rewarding to help others, and I felt like I could contribute something positive. I’ve found that connecting with so many people and offering support in such a variety of ways has been very meaningful. My proudest 7 cups achievement: What pops immediately to mind is not really a single achievement, but rather being a part of others’ achievements. Facilitating any chat where someone has an “ah-hah!” moment is the greatest achievement I think I could have. Advice: I would say to be honest, forthright, and to communicate clearly (but in a non-confrontational way) Leaders I admire: I admire @Jenna because she has always been welcoming and supportive, and she’s always made herself available to answer whatever questions anyone’s ever had. She can offer information about anything related to this site and uses this expertise to help others develop their own knowledge and skills. She knows so much and has continued to be a source of support and seemingly endless knowledge throughout my time here. I would be thrilled to know half of what Jenna does. Sometimes someone’s leadership doesn’t have to be public. Someone can be a leader one on one by being a role model and helping another person to learn and grow. I admire @AnnaSilverberg for this reason. In addition to her positive presence in places like the Listener Support Room, her willingness and ability to support me in exploring challenging issues has helped me to become a better leader and supporter. I believe that such attentiveness and ability to help others grow is part of being a great leader. What’s next: I really don’t know what’s next on my 7 cups journey. I like being available to offer support whenever and wherever someone needs me, so that may lead me to explore additional roles. I like learning, problem-solving, developing my skills, and taking on new challenges. That may lead me to explore greater leadership opportunities. I like exploring how things work. I like research. I like mentoring others. I like just offering support through listening. That’s what motivated me to become a Listener at 7 cups, and it’s still the core of what it means to be here. If I “just” stayed in my current roles, that’s ok too. Ultimately it comes down to how I can contribute the most. Dealing with challenges: I’m not sure if you mean biggest challenges at 7 cups, or biggest challenges in general. I suppose both involve getting active support – talking through things to figure out my thoughts and next steps (can you tell why I appreciate the listening process?). Sometimes it involves accepting the things I don’t like. I don’t have to like them, but fighting them - either internally or externally - is a waste of energy. I’m not very good at that one a lot of times, but when I succeed at it, that’s a major way I can get through some tough things. Other than that, it depends on the challenge. A lot of times it involves accepting the help and guidance of those who are better equipped than I am to deal with whatever is going on. Sometimes, when things are very difficult to do, it involves reminding myself of my values and my commitment to living up to them. Sometimes, frankly, it involves skills that I’ve learned in lots of years of therapy. It all depends on what I’m trying to face. — Please join me in giving congrats to Sophia!

I found Cups while looking for support for my relationship at the time, around 4 years ago. 🤗💜🤗 What do you do on Cups? I am a community mentor leader for the relationship stress community, am a chat supporter, peer supporter, safety patrol member, and a global moderator. I also take listening chats, as a verified listener! 🦻✅🦻 How do you like to start your day? I usually start it by completing some tasks on Cups, on my socials and then taking a quick shower! 💬🍵💬 What is your most favorite weekend activity? I would definitely say going out and enjoying the city or  the places where there’s nature and take pictures! 🍃🌳🍃 How important is self-care to you? It is so important to me that I cannot function  properly without doing some acts of self-care! 🤗🌞🤗 What motivates you? As of now, my partner motivates me mostly.  He is always there for me and cheers for me. 🙌🥰🙌 If you could be an animal, what would you be and why? I would be a dog because they are very friendly and they get tons of love! 🐶🐕🐶 Team Coffee or Team Tea? I honestly love both, coffee in the morning hours and tea in the evening/night hours. ☕🫖☕ What is your greatest strength? My greatest strength is my ability to multitask and handle more than one task at a time. 👑📖👑 If you could do one good thing today, what would it be? Be kind to others. 🤗😃🤗 What act of kindness, that you have either seen or done, is one that has stayed with you? A person being helpful to someone else in the street. Such acts always stay with me. 🧍‍♂️🌞🧍‍♂️ If you could add one thing to Cups, what would it be? I would add more kindness,  as it seems a lot of members these days do not show kindness  to one another in the chatrooms. 👑🤗👑 What’s your least favorite daily task? Homework. I absolutely hate it. 📚📖📚 What’s your favorite season of the year and why? Summer because I have a break from school and can enjoy the beach  and “me” time even more. 🌞🏖️🌞 Do you have a favorite hobby? I’d say my favorite hobby is photography at the moment.  I really love posing and everything about it!  Which is also why I bought myself a good quality camera three months ago. 📸🖼️📸 What is the weirdest food combination that you like? I do not think I have any. Maybe because I do not find myself to be interested in  any ‘weird’ combination, to be fair😛 🤭🫣🤭 If you could share some kind words with the community, what would those be? Spread kindness everywhere you go! We all deserve a bit of it. 🤗💗🤗 Thank you so much for reading our fun interview with Kate [https://www.7cups.com/@KateDoskocilova]! Let's get into this wonderful interview and see what they have to share with us! 🐬 How did you find Cups? I found 7 Cups by searching online for a platform that provides online therapy  and I was really curious about 7 Cups providing asynchronous text-based therapy  as I enjoy writing in general! 📖💙📖 What do you do on Cups? As the Director of Clinical Operations at 7 Cups,  I am responsible for overseeing the therapy program at 7 Cups and working alongside the amazing therapists at 7 Cups.  🙌👥🙌 How do you like to start your day? I like to start my day with coffee and feeling organised and ready for my day which  I usually do the night before as I have children!  📌📜📌 What is your most favorite weekend activity? I love spending time with my family and going for a walk with them,  spending time in the sunshine, and generally enjoying life.  🌞👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🌞 How important is self-care to you? Very! I am only able to provide my best to the people that I work with and care for if  I am feeling my best. I do weekly classes of yoga and Body Balance that help me to feel my best.  🤗💕🤗 What motivates you? I feel motivated by the breakthrough moments that I see in therapy  whether that is in my work or by supervising therapists.  It is truly incredible to see when someone feels better in their own lives and is making positive changes.  👩‍💻🌞👩‍💻 If you could be an animal, what would you be and why? I would love to be able to swim all day and explore the ocean so  I think I would quite like to be a dolphin or a whale! 🐬🐳🐬  Team Coffee or Team Tea? Team Coffee all the way! I would sit with someone who is feeling alone and make them feel heard.  🤗👂🤗 What act of kindness, that you have either seen or done, is one that has stayed with you? I feel the kindness of strangers is beautiful and I have seen people pay for someone else’s shopping who is struggling to pay for their groceries and this is heartwarming to see.  Personally, I remember once I saw an elderly man who was looking over at me and smiling in a coffee shop and I asked if he wanted to sit with me  so he did and we had lots of discussions about his experiences in life.  ☕🗣️☕ If you could add one thing to Cups, what would it be? That we help even more people feel less alone, heard, and understood! 🙌💙🙌 What’s your least favorite daily task? Interviewing our Leaders - Community Manager H💜
by AnnaSilverberg
Last post
March 31st
...See more Hay everyone✨!  We always want to know who’s behind the curtains, so it’s time😀  I gathered some great questions here and there from members and listeners in our Community and I brought them to H [http://www.7cups.com/@Heather225] to answer. Now, who the (h)eck is H?  Do they even go here? 😲 The wonderful, amazing, kind and caring H is our Community Manager. You have probably seen some of their amazing Forum Posts that are so supportive and helpful, and lets not forget, informative!  🌟 You might also have seen them around in the chatrooms, I must say that it’s always fun when H enters the room!  💜 💬A recent quote that came from H in the Teen Chatrooms: “Ah the majestic species, the ruler. Sometimes it’s seen mingling with its friend, the protractor.” Alright! Now that you have a tiny bit of information about who H is, let's dive into the questions!  🎤🎬🎤 How did you find Cups?   Stumbling upon Cups felt like pure serendipity. My career in moderation was reaching its end as my previous organization closed its doors, leaving me unsure of my next step. Back then, the idea of building online communities was still relatively new; I couldn't bear the thought of a job that lacked purpose, which wouldn't truly help people. So, when 7 Cups popped up during a random search on my bus ride to my temporary gig at the time, I was immediately drawn in. After reading up on the community-driven mission, I was both surprised I hadn't heard of Cups before and deeply inspired. I will never forget reading in the vision: “We are living in a world with an immense love deficit, which means that none of us are receiving the love we need to reach our true potential, to truly thrive.” I knew I had to be part of this movement, and the rest is history. 🩵💞🩵 What do you do on Cups? A little bit of everything! I support the efforts of our Community Management Team and Moderators, cheer on our Ambassador Team, mentor volunteer leaders, and provide assistance to our members and listeners alike. On the day to day, you’re likely to see me engaging in the forums and rooms, checking in, and ensuring our community is running smoothly. 🎉👏🎉 How do you like to start your day? With caffeine and a nice lo-fi station! 🎶☕🎶 What is your most favorite weekend activity? When the weather is nice, having a picnic at the park with my parrot, Flip! Other activities I enjoy: beach walking, dancing and writing. 🦜🏖️💃✍️ How important is self-care to you? It's everything, actually. We often say here you cannot pour from an empty cup or move on an empty tank! A favorite quote: "Rest and self-care are so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow." - Laurie Beth Jones 🍵💜🍵 What motivates you? Love, growth and sense of accomplishment. 💜🏆💜 If you could be an animal, what would you be and why? Probably a dolphin. They are hyper intelligent and have pretty cool lives. Plus the whole echolocation thing would be awesome to experience. 🌊🐬🌊 Team Coffee or Team Tea? Coffee — specifically Team Espresso. I won’t turn down a nice London fog though. Any teas with milk or honey or cream are always winners with me. 🍯☕🍯 What is your greatest strength? I’d say it’s a tie between resilience and empathy. 🤗👑🤗 If you could do one good thing today, what would it be? It would be to help someone see the good in themself. Sometimes all you need is someone who’s willing to hold up the mirror. I’ve been cared for in this way often enough that I always want to give this gift to others whenever I see something amazing in a person that they cannot see themselves. 🪞🫂 🪞 What act of kindness, that you have either seen or done, is one that has stayed with you? I’m lucky to say that I am surrounded by kindness, both in my offline life and here on Cups. The acts of kindness that stick with me are those that demonstrate thoughtfulness. Those kinds of acts that make you go, “wow! You were paying attention!” Acts of kindness that also go far are those that require time. Time is a gift we give, and time comes with so many good deeds. Listeners dedicate time selflessly to supporting people who are hurting. Leaders dedicate themselves to countless tasks and things that not only sustain but advance our community. Even members who spend time in the rooms, helping move member-powered Sharing Circles or simply validate and acknowledge each other’s struggles are voluntarily giving of themselves. It’s amazing to me and revives my faith in humanity over and over again. 🍀🙏🍀 If you could add one thing to Cups, what would it be? A library branch for AnnaSilverberg to manage all of our phenomenal resources. 😛 📖📚📖 What’s your least favorite daily task? Does anyone really like doing dishes? 🧽🧼🫧 What’s your favorite season of the year and why? Autumn!!! In my part of the world the weather’s just starting to cool down, all the great cozy drinks are in season, and of course my favorite holiday… Halloween! 🍂🎃🍂 Do you have a favorite hobby? Swimming! I am a true blue water baby (Cancer sign), looking up DIY things and hiking. 🌊🏊‍♀️🏖️ What is the weirdest food combination that you like? Milkshake and fries or pizza and ranch (which I don’t find weird at all but some people think so??). I just got some buffalo sauce and have been experimenting… 👀 🍟🥤🍟 If you could share some kind words with the community, what would those be? Every single one of you has something to give to the world. Some of you already know what it is, and others are still looking for it. Everyone has a purpose, and even if it’s just being good to others, that in itself makes the world a better place. You will get where you are supposed to be as long as you keep trying. Please be kind to one another, and treat others how you wish to be treated, and I hope that is with love because at the end of the day that’s what truly matters. Thank you for your continuing to nurture our community by putting your best foot forward and taking turns leaning on one another. 🎁💝🎁 💜 Thank you so much for answering our questions, @Heather225 💜 And thank you for all the amazing things you do for our community, we are truly lucky to have you🍀 Psst.. I agree with that Library branch! 😅 Thank you all for reading, I do hope you enjoyed spending some time with us! We wish you all a wonderful rest of your day!  ✨💜✨ ✨

I really enjoy going out with my loved ones. We like to go dancing, go to eat at new restaurants, going to the beach, or hanging out at someone’s house!  🕶️💃🕶️ How important is self-care to you? Self-care should be important to everyone! I think that it’s essential we all have something that recharges us to make sure we are our best selves! 😊  🩵👑🩵 What motivates you? Achieving my dreams and being surrounded by my friends and family are my biggest motivators. I also love helping others and making even a small difference in the world.  🙌👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🙌 If you could be an animal, what would you be and why? I think I’d like to be a bird (hehe) or a dolphin because I would love to be able to  fly or swim without any fear of heights or what’s lying in the depths of the ocean!  🐬🐥🐬 Team Coffee or Team Tea? Team (Decaf) Coffee 🩵☕🩵 What is your greatest strength? I would say that my greatest strength is my resiliency and my loyalty.  👑💪👑 If you could do one good thing today, what would it be? I gave iced tea to the men who moved my grandmother’s new couches into the house! 🧋🛋️🧋 What act of kindness, that you have either seen or done, is one that has stayed with you? I love seeing the good deeds that are done on social media. There is one guy who goes around and does yardwork for free for homes that are  overgrown and/or abandoned. If someone does live there, they are always so grateful.  💕📱💕 If you could add one thing to Cups, what would it be? If I could add one thing to Cups, I think I would add even more kindness.  It makes me sad when there is bullying or trolling on the site.  🩵🥰🩵 What’s your least favorite daily task? Laundry!! It’ll sit clean in the hamper for days and days. If I dump it on my bed, sometimes it gets me moving a little bit faster to put it away. 🧺🛏️🧺 What’s your favorite season of the year and why? I really love Christmas because it’s cold and my pale skin doesn’t burn. But I love going to the beach in the summer!! 🎁🌞🎁 Do you have a favorite hobby? I just love spending time with my friends and going out to do fun things!  🐥🐤🐥 What is the weirdest food combination that you like? People make fun of me but I really enjoy eating raw ramen and sprinkling the powder on top! It’s like chips! 🥣🍜🥣 If you could share some kind words with the community, what would those be? I want to say that the community truly is there for you. We all make mistakes and it’s okay to reach out for help and get support. No one is against you. We all want the best for everyone, so don’t hesitate to reach out to an admin because they really are the best! 👑🩵👑 ✨💙✨💙✨💙✨ Thank you all so much for taking the time to read our amazing interview with @LittleBirdie30 [http://www.7cups.com/@LittleBirdie30] And thank you, Birdie, for all the hard work you do, for all the care and all the joy that you give us. You are absolutely wonderful!  ✨💙✨ ✨
Interviewing our Leaders - Community Manager Obs

...See more Hay everyone✨! I have another interview for you all!  Lets peek behind the curtain and see who's there!  Ouh Wow!  The amazing and brilliant Obs has taken the time to answer the fun questions that have come from our amazing community! Now who is Obs [http://www.7cups.com/@ASilentObserver]? They are one of our amazing Community Managers and today, you get a little peek into their world! How did you find Cups? One day I received a message from someone on a social media platform where I used to write. They believed that I would be a good source of support and encouragement here. They encouraged me to join and I visited the site. Until then, I had no clue there was something like a mental health community. The vision got me hooked and I joined as a listener. I observed people around me and had my own experiences where it was tough to open up and share what I was going through and  I wanted to ensure that we went through, no one else goes through that. I noticed on 7 Cups, everyone shares the same spirit and energy to ensure  everyone feels heard, seen, and comforted. And that’s how I joined and the rest is the journey of learning and progressing with everyone.  💎💬💎 What do you do on Cups? I work with our community to make Group Support Chats the safest space for group sharing, learning, healing, and a growing place together. I work with our teens to make Teen town a comforting and encouraging home on the Internet. Also, work with our Verifier Team to help and guide the listeners to become Verified Listeners. Other than that, a bit of everything and working with the community in group chats, forums, and 1-1s to ensure we are all aligned in our efforts to offer support and grow & heal together..   💯🙏💯 How do you like to start your day? With coffee and a quick reading before taking a walk.  ☕📖☕ What is your most favorite weekend activity? Connecting with nature and a long walk. Other activities that I enjoy: Reading, writing and also some extra hours of sleep if I can. ⛰️😴⛰️ How important is self-care to you? It is pivotal. I learned it the hard way and I know I am not there yet. But I am taking my small steps every day. Self-care is like recharging your batteries,  and refueling your tank to ensure you enjoy your journey.  👑🤗👑 What motivates you? Getting things done.   👏🗒️👏 If you could be an animal, what would you be and why? Oh that’s easy. A baby elephant. :D They are quick learners.  A baby elephant can stand within 20 minutes of birth and walk within just an hour. And, they are adorable.  🐘🤓🐘 Team Coffee or Team Tea? On any day team coffee. And I appreciate the sentiments of tea.  ☕🍵☕ What is your greatest strength? Small steps. 👣🚶👣 If you could do one good thing today, what would it be? Listen to support someone.   💟👂💟 What act of kindness, that you have either seen or done, is one that has stayed with you? I have some people online/offline who believed in me during different phases or days of life. And it is huge. I believe having an unwavering belief and faith in one helps them find the path even  if in the given moment they feel clueless and clouded with thoughts of doubt.  🌞😶‍🌫️🌞 If you could add one thing to Cups, what would it be? More lively group chats so all able to experience the power of group sharing and healing.  🤗🙌🤗 What’s your least favorite daily task? Can’t say on a daily but on weekly basis, dusting, It is tiring.  😒🧽😒 What’s your favorite season of the year and why? Winter because summer is unbearable.  ❄️⛄❄️ Do you have a favorite hobby? Writing.  🖊️📃🖊️ What is the weirdest food combination that you like? Biscuit with Schezwan sauce 🍴🥣🍴 If you could share some kind words with the community, what would those be? I know how it feels to be alone and clueless. But, you are not alone here. If you are reading this or here in the community, you took your first small step to get through whatever you are experiencing. You are not alone anymore. You have the support of the community and we are all here to listen to you, support you, and grow with you.  💙🌞💙 So next time when you feel doubtful, worried, misunderstood, or any other emotions or experiences, know that you have us. Thank you for being courageous and in known and unknown ways, empowering & encouraging many including me. T h a n k  Y o u. Thank you all for taking the time to read our fun interview with @ASilentObserver It was a wonderful read!  We are so thankful for having you in our community, Obs!  Thank you for being the amazing person you are!  ✨💙✨ ✨

...See more This month we honor the contributions of a truly inspirational mentor. @Kristynsmama is one of our longest-standing users, having joined us back in 2014!! Kristy has made big impacts in several roles and has become the pillar of support in the Grief & Loss community. As a great natural leader, Kristy inspires all members of the Grief & Loss community to be open about grief, to share their feelings, and lovingly support each other. From the nominator: “Kristy is a Leader with capital “L”, and an outstanding person. She embodies all the human virtues, and in particular the virtues of a 7 Cups Leader, to the highest degree. Her goodness and compassion are unbounded. She has a vision for the Grief and Loss Community, where I have the privilege to work alongside her. She puts this vision into practice with much initiative, energy and talent. Kristy is a superb writer, which allows her to compose very inspiring and moving pieces that enliven the Grief and Loss Community and convey the best practices and mindset for dealing with grief. These have been distilled with much wisdom by Kristy from her own lived experience, which make them very authentic and compelling. Kristy is the heart and soul of the Grief and Loss Community, and as a Leader, she supports and inspires the whole Community in all possible ways with her healthy and wise vision and practical approach to dealing with grief. Kristy is also an exemplary teammate, a natural team player, always sharing ideas, asking and giving feedback, and taking the initiative to coordinate all activities. At a personal level, it’s a delight to work with Kristy. She is very clever, knowledgeable, and extremely friendly, making all interactions a wonderful and energizing experience. I am hugely grateful to Kristy, for the vision, leadership, and hard work she brings to the Grief and Loss Community, and, personally, for the inspiration, warmth, and the many rewarding shared moments she brings to my life. I admire her greatly, more than words can express, she is a role model for me. And I think Kristy is a superb role model for the whole 7 Cups community.” Q&A with Kristy! What motivates you to be a volunteer: I have always had a servant's heart. My greatest achievements in life have always been around being of service to other people and my community. What originally motivated me to be a volunteer on 7 cups is because I discovered 7 cups during the most difficult time in my life. I was lucky and blessed to talk to a wonderful listener who although she doesn't realize it, she saved my life. I have two proudest achievements on 7 cups: First and foremost, I am very proud of the work that I have been putting into the grief and loss subcommunity on the forums. I have found great satisfaction in bringing life to the grief and loss community and using my own personal experience for the benefit of other people who are grieving. Which fellow 7 Cups leader(s) do you admire and why? I admire quite a few leaders on 7 Cups. @AnnaSilverberg is my mentor and friend and I absolutely adore her. She has helped me to grow and change both as a listener and as a human being. @Jenna is someone that I have known since the very beginning of being a listener. They signed up to be a listener a few months after me. They do a lot for the community and I admire their dedication. @Tommy is someone who i just recently started getting to know. Asilentobserver is incredibly supportive and has helped me to become the leader that I am today. @Suryansh is another that I respect and admire. Every time I have taken on a mentor role and had a chat with them after my training, I have grown by leaps and bounds. @Fristo, @InternalAcceptance, @DreamTouch, @PositivePumpkin22, @HealingTalk, @Heartsandrosesandpaws, @Hope, and so many others have all made a difference in who I am as a leader on 7 cups. There are so many leaders who have been instrumental in my growth as a leader. And I am incredibly grateful to each of them. Which active listening skills help you when communicating with your teammates and fellow leaders? The active listening skills that help me to communicate effectively with my teammates and fellow listeners are: healthy boundaries, empathy, validation, reflection, and kindness. Really I talk to my fellow listeners and teammates the same way that I talk to members. What is next on your 7 Cups journey? I think my next step is moving into the Quality Mentor Leader role in the next few months. I have recently taken on two project agent roles so I want to settle into those roles before I take on a Mentor Leader Role. I also want to continue to put my energy into the grief and loss forums. Congrats on reaching a 110 streak! What's your favorite way to spend time on 7 Cups? I love every aspect of Cups, to be honest. But I especially enjoy the chatrooms. I enjoy talking to other members and listeners in real time.  - Thanks for leading with love and championing our community! Join me in returning the love to @Kristynsmama!

They were so available, I could ask them anything anytime.” “Suryansh has always been a positive influence in the community. Their leadership and support in the teen group chat was extraordinary and I’ve enjoyed seeing them grow from a recognized PB award winner to an ambassador continuing to water the roots of leadership while being focused on increasing quality to strengthen the community!” “Suryansh has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a genuine commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment in the LSR and member group chats. His remarkable ability to connect with others is truly commendable. His unwavering dedication to collaboration and problem-solving has been instrumental. He possesses a unique talent for bringing diverse perspectives together and encouraging open discussions. One of the most remarkable attributes of him is his thoughtful and empathetic nature. He genuinely cares about the well-being of the team and the community. His supportive and approachable that helps to foster a sense of trust and unity. I am truly honored to have him as part of the team and working closely to bring more support to the community.” Without further ado… the interview! What motivates you to be a volunteer? Being a volunteer here at 7 Cups aligns closely with my personal values and passions. The opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives by lending a safe listening ear motivates me. I am also driven by the sense of fulfillment that comes from being able to create a supportive environment and knowing that I can provide support to members who need a listening ear, someone who can provide them a non-judgemental space and/or someone who can hear their side of story. :) It also feels amazing to help listeners, whether they are new listeners just beginning their wonderful journey or experienced listeners utilizing their great skills and time to head different teams here and support individuals from all over the world.  Furthermore, I find that the process of volunteering allows me to continuously grow and develop personally. I am passionate about honing my communication skills, empathy, and understanding of different perspectives, and volunteering in this capacity provides an excellent platform for that growth. :) Your proudest 7 Cups achievements. My proudest achievement with 7 Cups has been an opportunity to have a positive influence on the community, make a meaningful difference in someone's life by offering a supportive and nonjudgmental environment, being able to assist and support those in need, and being able to lead the teams here at 7 Cups!  Some of my other achievements that I am proud of are becoming a PB Award Winner for 2021 and becoming an Ambassador recently, which allows me to give back to the community even more. Even if it's not so much, I'm glad I can make a small difference and help in my own way. If you had one piece of advice for our community (leaders/listeners/members/etc), what would it be? If I had one piece of advice for our community, it would be to prioritize empathy in every interaction. Whether you're a leader, a listener, or a member, approaching every interaction with empathy can foster understanding, connection, and a supportive environment for everyone involved. Empathy allows us to truly listen and understand each other's perspectives, leading to more effective communication and a stronger sense of community. By making empathy a central guiding principle, we can create a space where everyone feels heard, valued, and supported, ultimately fostering a culture of compassion and mutual respect. :) Which fellow 7 Cups leader(s) do you admire and why? I truly admire all the 7 Cups leaders because of their dedication, hard work, support, efforts, and presence. Some of them for whom I have great admiration are: (in alphabetical order) @ASilentObserver: I admire Obs for his exceptional leadership qualities and capacity to passionately guide the community. He takes time to observe things (as the name already suggests haha) and acts on the underlying causes. His ability in task management is wonderful! @Heather225: I really admire H for patiently listening to ideas from everyone, be it a newbie or an experienced listener. Their ability to understand the ideas/insights/feedback and explain things to people is just unbelievable. Their ability to manage various teams is excellent. @Hope: Since the very first day I joined the community, Hope has been genuinely incredible. I have a lot of admiration for Laiba because of her lovely presence in rooms and her amazing ability of answering unlimited questions. She shares her opinions, provides insights on numerous topics, and effectively leads the community and the entire 7 Cups Academy! @hopedreamlove: One of those listeners, Jas, is the reason I'm here today. Jas has always been someone I've admired for her ability to acquire concepts quickly and thoroughly, comprehend them, and use her excellent leadership abilities to guide listeners and develop leaders. She helped me develop my listening skills, and I can never express my gratitude to her enough. @MistyMagic: the one who made it feasible for me to have a learning place that I still have now.. I have absolute admiration for Misty because of her efforts to foster teamwork, her excellent leadership qualities, her unwavering support throughout my journey, and her current great efforts to strengthen the mentorship program at 7 Cups! Misty is also my magician, who taught me magic!  @Sunisshiningandsoareyou: Sun, who I only recently met in June, but have appreciated and admired ever since I first saw them in forums.  Sun is really a cheerful person who spreads happiness wherever Sun goes, whether it's in chat rooms or forums throughout the community. I admire Sun for Sun's ability to foster relationships, promote joy, and lead the community like no one else. There are many other leaders for whom I have great admiration. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to each and everyone of you for your great support and efforts in the community. Which active listening skills help you when communicating with your teammates and fellow leaders? In my experience, several key active listening skills have significantly enhanced my communication with teammates and fellow leaders. One of the most important skills is attentive listening, which involves fully focusing on what others are saying without distraction. My full attention while communicating with team members and leaders, helps me to ensure that I grasp everything, which also allows me to have an effective thought-sharing process with them. :) Additionally, showing empathy has been immensely helpful in building as easy and understanding relationship with my fellow teammates and leaders. It helps to also create an environment of mutual trust and respect. I have always asked a tonne of questions anytime I had trouble comprehending something and I have always encouraged others as well to do the same. Asking clarifying questions has always been helpful to me in order to develop a better comprehension of ideas, concepts, and complexity.  Lastly, the skill of providing constructive feedback has been vital in nurturing a culture of continuous improvement within our team. The continuous processes of receiving and giving constructive feedback helps us boost the professional growth of the community and listeners/leaders here. <3 What’s next for you on your 7 Cups journey? Currently, I am deeply invested in my current role as an Ambassador and fully dedicated to maintaining a positive and supportive community environment within 7 Cups. Moving forward, I plan to enhance my contributions by actively promoting a culture of inclusivity, empathy, and support among both fellow Ambassadors and the broader community. :) Simultaneously, I remain dedicated to my role as an active listener, as I find immense fulfillment in providing compassionate support to individuals in need. :) I intend to keep honing my listening skills and enhancing the ability to effectively offer emotional support to individuals who reach out for assistance. I also aim to deepen my understanding of various mental health issues. <3 Overall, my 7 Cups journey revolves around continued growth, advocacy, and support. By combining my passion for ambassadorship with my dedication to active listening and emotional support, I strive to create an environment where every individual feels empowered and valued on their path to emotional well-being and personal growth. :) - Congratulations, Suryansh, and thank you for being such an enthusiastic and generous leader.

Many people struggle to get access to therapies for different reasons, and so if I can provide support as a listener, I will do it! And once you have become a listener and met the wonderful members here, and heard their stories, that is enough motivation for me! Your proudest 7 Cups achievement. My proudest achievement 7cups achievement isn't a role or badge, it's having had messages of thanks and appreciation from other members and listeners.
