mesh mask
twerp
January 6th
I am aware that I wear a mask,
It shields my features,
Yet I do know I am not truly concealed.
It was a choice, to hide behind my own self,
A choice I see in every word I utter.
I know you see it too.
So please, do not judge too swiftly,
For a mask, though meshed, is not impenetrable—
It is both seen through and seen upon.
Beneath the layers, I am fragmented,
A collection of moments, worn and marked,
An identity not easily defined,
But one that stands, even if unseen.
