Summer Lake

discreetMelon4020 May 18th, 2023

Never still, ripples always cross its face

It shines in the morning sun, that lake

Warming at high noon

And paints me in glorious color come evening

Trees dot the horizon

Branches sway in the breeze

Leaves fall gently to the water

A boat passes by, and from it comes waves

They tickle my ankles, rushing in

My feet sink in sand

And I bask in its majestic beauty

As the echos of childhood come flooding back

Aw this is such a good little poem! I love the last 4 lines, that's exactly what vibe I got when reading the first half of the poem. Thank you for sharing!
