Staying awake with overthinking

I don't know if I will call that poetry , let me call it random writing from my thoughts and daily life :

In the dead of night, a darkened room,

A soft breeze whispers from the gloom, I stare into the dark, seeing the unknown,

Tick-tock, tick-tock, the clock's voice is grown.

I focus on two sounds, the clock's steady beat, Tick-tock, and the heart's thumping heat, My mind speaks to my heart, my heart replies, Thoughts of the past open, a painful surprise. Old memories rise, sharp and intense, They speak to my heart, with sorrow immense, Stirring unease, and a pounding chest, The mind steps in, trying to give rest. "Remember, we've passed all this pain," The mind reminds, "calm, and refrain," After some effort, the heart finds peace, And the mind, alone, in its thoughts, seeks release. I won't share more with the heart tonight, Let it rest, while I linger in the light, Lost in memories, endless and deep, Until the body tires and  finally sleep ....

I love how you’ve captured such a reflective and introspective moment here. It’s got this really peaceful yet uneasy vibe... the quiet of the night brings all sorts of thoughts and emotions to the surface. The way you balance the mind and heart having their own conversation – it makes the piece feel so real, like something anyone could relate to. Honestly, whether you call it poetry or just a stream of consciousness, it’s got a lovely flow and a lot of depth. Really enjoyed reading it!

It an essence of our mind's struggle with the heart. Our mind- which tends to overthink- seeks solace; but our heart- so soft and unprotected- usually take what we think to heart! A struggle so true and yet so sad. I loved it and how it just flows!! ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡
