Happiness

BastionKnight October 9th

Elusive friend dancing a fingertip out of reach from me,

Across the steep valley, from the sunlit mountain peak you wave.

Your yodel call echoes, a sanguine sing-song melody.

Your movement entrancing; unselfconscious, carefree, and brave.

From the shore I watch your vessel bobbing out at sea,

Near and yet so far. The return to harbour I crave.

Frozen platform waiting in anticipation.

Hopeful eyes scanning empty carriages, perplexed.

Disappointment watches Drive leave the station,

Wistfully longing that your train be the next.

Marvel at your delicate creation

And the power of how your touch affects.

Each gathering, a party you make.

Always the very best company.

Butterflies follow in your wake

Inspiring camaraderie.

Bright grin banishing heartache.

Invite yearned for jealously.

Your essence hides inside.

"Draw it forth alchemist!"

Let it be the guide

From this maze of mist.

Last of tears cried,

The fugue dismissed.

"Happiness,

Stay a while"

Hands press.

Beguile.

"YES!?"

*Smile*

Thank you for your kind reply, I very much appreciate it.

I wasn't sure if the format the poem took would work that well (each stanza comprised of three paired lines of equal syllabic length running from 15 down to 1), so I am very pleased if you enjoyed it.
