Remember 

Remember when I used to chased you around outside in the yard for no reason? We laughed and joked you made silly faces. You let me “catch you.”

Remember when we would go on long car rides and sing to the radio?

I would change the lyrics to the songs. I would sing to you. Sometimes I would tell you to join in with me.

I didn’t even care where we were going at the time. 

Remember when we had a fire pit outside?

We had cookouts in the summer.

Then the neighbor came over and played guitar? 

You stayed up late and I went to bed. Then you came to bed too.

Remember when you walked the dogs and met those strangers?

Not only did you meet some women you didn’t know you forever changed your life.

You then claimed to love both of us when caught.

Remember when you tried “something new” was it worth it to?

You didn’t want to stop you felt better you claimed.

3 years went by

Then person I remember left then. Where did he go? 

I told you I didn’t recognize you anymore but you didn’t care. I was left crying in the car this time. 

So it got worse for the both of us. I finally let you go slowly. You couldn’t handle it. 

You lost everything by then. I told you that you would loose me. I couldn’t handle anymore. 

I found out your gone I never thought it would happen. 34 years old and gone but you were gone before then. 

I miss your smile.

I miss your laugh.

I had to say goodbye. 

But I knew it had to be.
