Talking about trauma through poetry (TW sexual abuse)
So talking about my trauma and accepting it really helps me cope and process it. I thought I'd post a poem I wrote on here. Feel free to share your poetry here as well ❤️🩹
TW: Sexual abuse, child sexual abuse
Young and naive they called me,
Little miss gullible in the yearbook,
Yet they did not know what I know,
What it was like when I was just a 5 year old,
Who did not want to play the games
That she was forced to.
Small soft hands, made to do hard adult things.
They did not know the pain I carried
And still do
They did not know that just a gentle touch
Could make me flinch
If they knew, if only they knew
They would not call me naive.
Would they call me strong? Or would they call me broken? By the things that I knew.
Young and naive they called me,
I wish I were...
This was really good

Hi, I'm not sure if you're talking about my poem or Socius's beautiful poem in response but thank you so much either way. That's very kind of you to say 😊
