Maladaptive daydreaming-Is it a mental disorder?

simbasky April 29th

Heyy, if ou know what maladaptive daydreaming is and have experienced ot please message me.i really need to talk about it to someone.

I have been doing since i was a child..now i have grown a strong connection with all the characters there. I feel more safe in that imaginary world than this "real" world.

Ik i am not crazy cause i know that these aren't real and is all my imagination but still..

I too did this type of daydreaming and realized for me... it was an escapism type thing and was in the end counter productive in my life.... it is hard but i slowly had to let it go to not feel torn between what I need to do in life and my daydreams.

 In real life we do not write the script and things do not always work in our favor.

@simbasky

There must be many ways... i am not always successful and fall back on it when i am in certain moods...

I found the most helpful thing has been to ask myself  "can i make these daydreams true"  "what would i need to do." ...

of course since my daydreams often had items that were not feasible in real life it showed the flaws in my theory  and I would re-focus on real things to improve my life instead of daydreaming about success and great things.
