@independentCamp6187 God bless you ❤ and your son ❤ I'm disabled, I don't have a family, I live in a care home, were I rely on people to help me with everything, washing, dressing, cooking, getting lifted in and out of bed. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a parent and a caregiver. It takes a special kind of heart to look after someone who cant. It's understandable to be burnt out, you must take time to look after yourself too. It's important to take self care breaks, to be able to do what you do. And right here is the perfect place to vent, to share your feelings/thoughts and struggles. Gives you a giant tiny hug ❤ how are you coping right now?

Being a caregiver for family is harder then other types IMO ... when burnout happens we may feel guilt or we are not allowed ....

please take even very small self care time and remember it is ok to be frustrated and need a time out burnout can happen to anyone.

@independentCamp6187  Hi! |I think you have done the right thing in posting here. This is the perfect place to vent and share how you are feeling and gain support too, It can be amazingly difficult to be a single parent and for your child to have autism makes it even more difficult.

As a parent we can sometimes feel like we have given up our life and in many ways we have, for sure being a parent means that our non-parent life has gone. But you can find lots of support here, in the forums, or by finding a listener here https://www.7cups.com/BrowseListeners/  or by visiting the group support rooms here https://www.7cups.com/connect/groupChatrooms.php

Feel free to vent here and we will respond, hugs.
