Hello all

MartianGirl347 September 13th, 2023

I’m relatively new here…

Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed how much OCD really affects me. I’ve been dealing with it since before I can remember, so it’s all I know. It wasn’t until I was partially hospitalized, and now in IOP, that I was able to see how deep it goes for me.

I also deal with trichotillomania, dermatillomania, etc., and I’m looking for some support, especially since I’ve recently started a master’s program while in IOP and looking to go back to work soon… life is very overwhelming at the moment.

I hope everyone is having a good night! 😊 hello to the new peeps!

Hi, just know that you're not alone! :) and you're amazing! :) I mean what I'm abt to say in a totally straightforward manner if you want I can help you look for support if you tell me what continent/country/state/county/province you're in - support is different in different places so it needs to be local. (I'm sorry if I'm patronising you here, totally unintentional, I promise, and when I promise I mean it).

Eg I live in UK and support for England is different from Scotland or even my local council area compared to Scotland (some places might have different coverage of area like for me, they might have Aberdeen, Inverness, Glasgow but not my area for a certain condition that I need help with, like OCD for example, I also have OCD tendencies but it's complicated for me).

Hope you get the support you need! :)

I also know it can be very overwhelming looking for support ON TOP OF desaling with stuff (hence why I offered tp look it up) but if you can do it fine yourself I'm totally fine with that (I'm abt empowering if they need it or letting them empower themselves if they don't). When i'm say I'm totally fine with that (my brain's like I'm totally not but that's my ball game from autism rejection sensitive dysphoria - perceiving things as criticism/teasing very quickly often, wrongly and then getting seriously upset abt it - it can take me days to work through, but I WILL work through it so you do what you need to do, yeah)! :) Altho my feelings are valid that's totally more important than me getting super upset abt rejection of help and having to work through that - that's ALL MY issue and not yours).

@StressedGirl

I found your reply to be kind and insightful 😊 I actually FINALLY got set up with a therapist. It took a while, but it finally happened! I can’t see her until the end of October, so my IOP therapist is going to meet with me twice before my appointment.

What you do to help others is quite wonderful! I can tell that your empathy is strong!

I'm only sorry I can't post this OCD etc forum for you here bcos I'm on the phone (usually use computer) and it's.beyond my technological abilities although I'm young. Please excuse my bad lang (spllng) and my nonsense last time.it was a.baf say and I wasn't thinking. I hadn't slept well for a long time bcos of mental health issues etc. Thank you that you have greeted me only with understanding instead of the judgement I so often receive at the hands 9f my autism.
