Hey guys! I got into K-pop a long time ago and I discovered my passion for dance. Do you guys wanna share what aspect of yourself did you discover after getting into K-pop?

@Sohyuk Same for me. I got into k-pop because of a friend who stanned Itzy, so I discovered BTS, Le Sserafim, etc. And I was so amazed by their dancing skills that I wanted to start dancing: so after long discussions with my parents, I‘m finally taking dance classes since two months now :)

hi (:

around last year i got into k-pop, and i discovered i was pretty good at freestyle dancing to it. i even signed up for this school dance competition/show thing, and i discovered that one, people thought i was good at dancing, and not just my friends, people from other year groups thought so too. that felt so nice, that i’d finally worked for something by myself and people noticed it. and two, i discovered that i was a completely different person while performing. i’m usually very shy and timid, but onstage i have all the confidence in the world, and probably more. that felt so nice too, that i could be confident, and i don’t know why but it comforted me that this part of me still existed (i did dance classes a while back). i guess adrenaline does work wonders haha

anyways, so a big part of why i love k-pop is because of what it helped me discover, another part of myself, and listening to k-pop, dancing to it and whatever, it’ll always remind me of what k-pop gave me.

I helped me figure out my passion and even lead me to my major and new interest of dancing. I got into it in my last year of middle school in the DNA era of BTS. I would “learn” kpop dances and then learn more about the culture and language. I even tried making a kpop dance group and clubs in high school when covid hit and stopped everything. But now as a college student i found out i’m a good dancer and pick up choreo fast, but I don’t do kpop dances much anymore. I have doing more hip hop and been thinking of wanting to be a backup dancer for artist and idols in korea.

Superbee - pass the rhyme (k hiphop)

@Sohyuk
ooohh, i've been looking for a post like this. I got into k-pop one random day in 6th grade, and it was the "Loco" by Itzy dance practice.
after a bunch of months, I started stanning NCT.
honestly, I learned that I like having fun, and that I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee dancing. even when I was in dance in 6th grade, I did it because it randomly was on my school schedule.
i've been dancing for 3 years, and I know over 50 dances! currently learning the full dance for "How Sweet" by New jeans as of 5/25 :)

@Sohyuk

Have you seen the recent videos from Aespa? I really enjoy video editing, vocals and sound in "Supernova", the choreography is killing me 😊

I am a bit too old to learn professional dancing, but being a young man or a girl, I would be tempted 😊

I adore many K-pop songs from different artists. I was first infected with this genre by Sunmi's "Siren", and I am proud the video to "Stranger" was filmed in my country 👍 I also listen to bands like Dreamcatcher, or some J-metal, like Lovebites.

@Sohyuk I got into kpop during the pandemic, even though my family was constantly playing Korean and Japanese music around me for most of my life. BTS was the main group I got into because of the messages they conveyed (i.e. self love) and their music/dance. I have a background as a ballerina, so I've been learning kpop dances on the side for fun! Since I can't train full time as a ballerina anymore (bc college), I've been taking open level classes at a studio near me - I hope to join their competitive crew one day!
