I'm Proud of Myself Because

BunnyPixieDust021 December 8th, 2016

I'm proud of myself because I did my first oral presentation in front of a group of 19-20 people with social anxiety. My presentation was on a research topic on stigma towards mental illnesses. I told my class that I was diagnosed with social anxiety and how I didn't tell anyone because of stigma and feeling misunderstood (which is why I'm doing my research project on this topic). Before I used to avoid presentations because I can feel myself getting a panic attack and small talk would stress me out because I feared that others will judge me. Then I finally told them about how I started to overcome it by presenting to them for the first time. And everybody clapped. And told me that I'm doing a good job :D

I couldn't be more prouder.

@BunnyPixieDust021 Wow! You deserve the clapping and to be proud of yourself! Giving a presentation in front of 15-20 people was already very brave of you, and to go beyond that, and open up about your social anxiety must have taken even more courage. This was a big first step, and I'm sure things will get easier with practice. :)

Bunny- That's great... thumbs up đź‘Ť Speaking to a group is difficult, even for ppl without social anxiety. You faced your fears, and did it (which is not an easy feat) You should be Proud. Well done
