Daily Chit Chat with a Friend
Just a nice Chit Chat with a friend is all that is needed.
So... How was your day today?
@IsayUncle We are still driving. About an hour from home now. How was your day? I know you are probably getting ready for bed. It's 7:36 here but it is an hour later where you are. So it's ok if we just talk tomorrow. I hope I can get my schedule to be more like yours. Maybe not with a 3 am wakeup time but an earlier bedtime would be good!
@Psalm139
Hey, thanks for the update and you're right. I know that it was a long tiring day for you too. You get home, get the kids and yourself settled and I think you'll be ready for some much deserved sleep too. We'll talk tomorrow. Wishing you a good restful night, for sure. π΄
@IsayUncle I'm getting ready for bed soon now. You will be up in a few hours, so good morning π Hopefully I won't sleep too late! I'm exhausted but relieved to be done with such a long, hard day π€π
@Psalm139
Good Morning. It sounds like and feels like you handled yesterday pretty good. I know your glad to be back home and I hope your morning starts you off in good spirits and a good direction.
@IsayUncle Jax and I sleptt really late. It's almost noon here now. And your day is half over. Justin's grandma passed away last night at 1:30 am. So the funeral will be in a few days.
How have you been today and yesterday? It seems like we've mostly just been talking about me.
π
@Psalm139
THAT'S GOOD... You guys rested up and deserved every bit of it. Sorry about your (justins) grandma, it's like she was waiting to see you. I know you must be very sad. I hope you handle the funeral ok.
You have had a lot of emotional hurdles in the past week and got another on it's way, plus trying to get started with the homeschooling. That's why we're talking about your stuff right now. I'm mostly tired and scattered brained because of the free time I'm putting into the students. (But not feeling bad) I'm leaving for a football game in about an hour.
At the last minute this morning, I decided to get chips and drinks for them on the bus because of the 4 day labor day weekend we have. That knocked my day out of whack... it was worth it they loved it! I think things will settle down for both of us after a while here. At least I hope so. π
It's been a good day but at the end of it I'm tired. I was at my Mum and Dad's and moving some things forward in my life, getting some work and things done. It was really nice to spend quality time with them. Parents are tough. I came back home this afternoon, enjoyed a food shop but afterwards felt slightly deflated as I realized it's back to reality.
@Compassionheart89
Hi, glad you had a good day, Tired and all. I know what you mean. about feeeling deflated a bit but hopefully a good nights rest clears the day for tomorrow. It sounds like you got some good stuff done and had a good parent visit! That's awesome.
I had to look at your profile with the "Mum" and "Enjoyed a food shop" Figured England was a good guess. Beautiful picture of the alps too.
@IsayUncle Thank you IsayUncle - I really appreciate your comments and your words of encouragement
My day was ok but I'm feeling overwhelmed and anxious this evening. π
@oliveApple9713 Sorry to hear that oliveApple, I hope that th night allows you rest and things feel lighter in the morning
@IsayUncle I'm sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. That was so sweet of you to buy chips and sodas for your bus kids! Stuff like that is definitely worth throwing your day off. I think people are the most important, always. They should always come first. Was the game you went to for one of your bus kids too? Do you like football?
The funeral will be Thursday and we leave Wednesday. There is some drama with some of the family, so hopefully everything works out. An ex wife of Justin's brother that wants to come (but he remarried so that complicates things) and a cousin (one of only three grandchildren) that may not come with his wife and three children.
We will be staying overnight. But we have some time to prepare. Still getting things together to see what everyone has to wear. Filled in a few gaps tonight at Walmart. Still need shoes for the girls and I and the seven year old and a shirt for my four year old.
I hope you had a good evening and fun at your game! I will be around more tomorrow π
@Psalm139
Good Morning, Having my coffee now.
I never did and still don't understand family drama.... I really do not understand the normalness of it or how to navigate it. I guess I do understand old scabs being picked at unavoidable gaterherings but that's about it. It sounds like you are handleing it very well, but I know it must be hard on you anyway. It sounds like you got a lot to keep you busy too to get ready. Hang in there.
Feeling pretty rough this morning, got a freaking cold yesterday and it's raging war this morning. I'm not a sports person but of all the sports, I like football the best. It was a students game (1st home game) but sadly, they were getting stompedπ. I left at halftime, feeling pretty crappy.
I woke up late, 6am. I have to get 4 dogs that do not undersatand the leash and scared of the car, in the car and driven to vet. UGGGh, One usually gets sick in the car too. Then I might have a small job to do after that; if the guy shows up. Another Ugggh!
Other than all the uggghs.... Rose colored glasses, Sunny skies and My Farts don't stink. haha
We'll talk more later, i hope you have a good moring. IT is doggie time!
@IsayUncle That sounds like it will be rough getting the dogs to the vet. I hope it went ok! I get nervous taking our cats and I bring kids to hold them. So I understand. We used to have dogs too. A husky and one of her puppies, a husky mix. He was black and had one blue and one brown eye. They were both very pretty dogs but they were strong and hard to control. We watched so many videos trying to learn how to train them but never figured it out.
I hope you aren't feeling too bad. Sometimes for me colds feel worse in the mornings. Did you not have a bus run this morning? I imagine being around all those kids you probably get sick more often. Thed year we were in the shelter the kids went to school and almost every day someone was sick. They got influenza A and B and pink eye. One got pneumonia. The little one got ear infections. Over and over. I even got sick and that is rare for me.
Anyway, I am just waking up and drinking coffee now. And I'm rambling on a little.
I will talk to you laterπ
@Psalm139
Hi M, I'm finally home. The dogs all have some form of worm, fungi, ticks and fleas, brusies etc... All pretty normal for out door type dogs. I knew it was time to get them thier check-ups and medicines. I'll be Nurse John for about a month. I'm going to have to make a list of thier medication timetables. I also gave them all thier rabies shots. I was worried about that with them being in the woods a lot. I really feel better about all that now and glad there were no serious issues. (Except a $500 expense I couldn't really afford) But really that wasn't bad for 4 dogs I guess. Plus she gave me $90 worth of flea collars for free.
I couldn't imagine handling all that with 5 kids. (not worms and ticks haha... u know what i mean) Like you said, school kids are always around other sick school kids. I just realized that's a huge benefit of homeschooling I never considered. We've both been thrown off track a bit. were yu able to get started with the home schooling?
@IsayUncle No with the news about Justin's grandma and then the visit there that took all day we haven't started. And we won't next week because we will be gone two days in the middle of the week. Yeah that all is stressful and my medicine makes it hard for me to get up early enough to get everything done but if I don't take it that isn't good either. I'll figure it out though. After next week.
It's good you got your dogs the medicines they need and flea collars. That is a huge relief I'm sure. Four dogs is a big responsibility. And with them being outside those shots are especially important. We got our cats spayed finally last year. I called a place and got them on a list so they could have it done at a discount because with three it is expensive. Maybe you could see if there are any programs like that in your area in case anything comes up you need help with for the dogs. I try to save money any way I can and apply for all the discounted services and programs we qualify for. I know some people are against getting any type of help but that's what those programs exist for so I feel ok about it.
How are you feeling today? I am tired and emotional and haven't been terribly productive but I got some dishes done and cleaned up around the table. And I have to make dinner soon. Some days though it would be nice to just sleep through until things are better. But they never really are anyway. Not for long. It's always something else.
@Psalm139
Yea, I'm pretty wiped out myself. When I was done with my cdl classes I thought I was going to rock and roll. Talking about the past 2 weeks, we need to be easy on ourselves and keep forging forward.
When my sister used up 2 weekends and the free work I do with the kids killed the rest of my timetable ... And then the dogs. (I still have more stuff to do for the dogs but I'm glad that part is done).
For You, planning to get the kids started with preschool, Then the cabinets took longer, Camping trip epic fail and then this with Grandma and now the Funeral.
We both got side tracked pretty bad. I think I'm back to my starting point of 2 weeks ago so I'm going to try again. You just have to hang in there and hold fast through the funeral. I wish I could just sleep for the next three days.... But that is not an option, back to cleaning house right now.
We use to have a 2 colored eye husky as a kid, but not for long. I don't know what happened to it. I did have one dog my entire childhood, his name was Thor and everyone called him my shadow. From third grade till he died when I was in the service.
@IsayUncle You already got a lot done this morning with your dogs, so that's not getting nothing done. That was a huge thing to take care of and very important. I think that you need to be more patient with yourself the way you tell me to be. I don't know why everything feels so hard for us (it seems like you understand the way I feel anyway - everything feels like it's harder for me than for "normal" people). It doesn't seem fair at all. But I know we aren't the only ones that struggle.
I hope you have a good rest. What are your weekend plans or goals?π
@Psalm139
Good Morning, Thanks for the reminder, Going easy this morning.
@IsayUncle Good Morning π. Sorry I have been kind of out of it/in my own world for a few days
@Psalm139
Yea, doing a lot better, thanks. I got my dishes and kitchen cleaned early, just napped for a few hours but now going to try to do my receipts and bills.
How are you this morning?
@IsayUncle Good job on your kitchen and dishes! I am glad you are feeling better and got a napπ. I'm ok today. I rearranged the kitchen and cut open 150 catheter packs and put those away so one less box sitting in my living room. Also did the cat litter which isn't my favorite job obviously. Procrastinating on the dishes! Nothing new there! Just taking a break now.
π
My day was ok thanks for asking! My evening not so great. Argued with my wife over something that I just didnβt want to talk about at that moment. All I wanted to do last night was relax from a long day at work and she need to vent to me about it. I just wanted to go the evening without any negativity. So we argued about it and now weβre not really talking.
I'm feeling very under confident. I want to write but fear takes over me and I can't produce anything.
@IsayUncle
I think I had the worst day today; I felt like a complete failure because I felt isolated from my friend group, got rejected and probably re-thought my all choices in life and why am i like this.
@glisteningwind1
Awwww, that sounds pretty bad, I'm so sorry. It really hurts a lot when we feel rejected. Do not question your whole life because how someone else made you feel. We have no idea what others are gonig through and they can just be insensitive and mean sometimes. That's not on you! AT ALL! Trust yourself again and believe.
@IsayUncle Naps are good on the weekends! You do a lot during the week so you need to rest! Justin is napping too. I just rearranged the living room. We still have some random things that need to get out but I like it better the way I have it now. I forgot my medicine for a couple days but remembered it last night. I took it at 8 and got to bed by 11 so I think I'll keep that up.
@Psalm139
I guess trying to keep a house sorted with 7 people is quite the challange. I don't know how you are able to do it. I complain just about myself and one day dealing with 4 dogs.... you do it 24/7 - 52 - 365. That's actually pretty freaking amazing! π The rearranged furniture is always a nice change.
i'm glad you figured out something with your Meds, that's important. It's not surprising you forget with all the stuff you have to do everyday.
@IsayUncle Thanks for your message. I thought maybe you were mad at me because I wasn't responding well yesterday. I was just kind of out of it. I'm sorry.
I think it's sweet that you had a dog that you were close to for so long. I don't remember you mentioning you were in the service either. Does that mean army, navy, air force? My dad was in the navy but he would have been older than you. He was in Vietnam.
Are you having an ok day?π
@Psalm139
Hey, look at me, up at adult hours! haha. I have been napping almost all day long. I guess that cold really got me. I'm like you, I very seldom get sick and usually it doesn't effect me much if I do. I was a jet engine mechanic serving the Air Force in Germany during the mid 80's. My father was a cook in the Navy during the Korean War; I thought until I just looked up the dates. Hmmmm? Do you know what your father did?
I wasn't mad at you. You have got to be busier than a beaver during normal daytime hours. I was definetly out of it all day today. Actually, I just woke up and felt pretty good so decided to work on my paperwork for a while. How did things go with you today?
Did you ever finish your cabinets?
