Daily Chit Chat with a Friend
Just a nice Chit Chat with a friend is all that is needed.
So... How was your day today?
@IsayUncle
Hey M, Good morning.
What's your day looking like?
@IsayUncle Good morning ๐. Today is grocery days so that's the main event. I'm also working on getting the boys shared room clean today. That's quite a job since my seven year old is constantly (I'm not exaggerating lol) cutting and pasting and drawing and creating! I got him a nice big desk and it is full. I finally got under and around the desk done! After all that I really want to figure out a better solution for my son's medical supplies. He uses catheters (my youngest that is in my picture with me), so we get 150 a month plus 30 to tape in at night, 100 + pull ups a month, 30 diapers, plus gloves, lubricant, medical tape. It's just a lot to store. And a new shipment is coming in a few days!
Did your sister arrive? How is all that going? I checked for a post earlier but thought you probably were busy with her๐
@Psalm139
Luckily, she'll not be here until about 5pm. I'll have everything set by then.
It sounds like you're having a proactive day... that's always a good sign. I love hearing and seeing the creation of youngsters. Sounds like a mess though! How old is your boy with the medical condition? I'm really sorry to hear about that. It sounds like a urinary or bladder dysfunction, What's going on with that?
@IsayUncle Oh you have plenty of time then๐. My youngest is 4. We knew he had hydronephrosis when he was born but it wasn't too severe and at 10 months they said he was ok. Then in January of 2021, 2 months after his 3rd birthday, he went into full retention. He couldn't pee and his bladder was about 3x the size it should have been. After 5 or 6 trips to the ER to have him cathed the traditional way, he got in to see a specialist. In late February he had surgery to correct the hydronephrosis on the right side and put in a suprapubic catheter to let his bladder rest. A sp tube is a tube coming out of his pelivic area that drained into a diaper. Unfortunately his bladder never started squeezing again. They did tests to see and it would just fill up and he was in so much pain. So in September he had the sp tube removed and had the appendicovesicostomy procedure (google it if you are interested) so I can now cath him through a channel that goes through his belly button to his bladder. We do that every 3 hours and then leave one in at night to free drain in a diaper. He is otherwise a normal, happy, smart, active little boy. But it's definitely been a long road and was very hard for a while there!
What are you up to today? I took my oldest son to Kohl's because he and I both needed shoes. Then we went to Aldi for groceries and I got those mostly put away. Now it's coffee break timeโโโโ๐
@Psalm139
It's not funny how time flies... I just got back from shopping and the house is.... blah blah blah. The bedroom is awesome though. I'm sorry, probably be tommorrow before I can chat., she'll be here in 1 hour, a little early. ๐
@IsayUncle It's ok. I understand. I hope you have fun and enjoy your time with her as much as you can๐
@Psalm139
You sure have handled some pretty tough stuff... After being homeless, this happens and youir poor child is sufferering so much. (I'm so sorry) You got'em through it and he's doing well now. That is a blessing. Is this a permanent solution for the rest of his life or is there a chance of normal healing and recovery?
Hey M, I hope your morning is going well and please feel free to post as you wish, you won't be interrupting. Our visit is going well. We're going to a flea market mall today and then she'll spend the rest of the week with my ex. YAY!
@IsayUncle
Good morning ๐. My day is going ok. I just got done picking up and vacuuming the living room. I am trying to figure out where to put Jaxon's supplies still - and his toys (little action figures) that he is constantly taking out. I'd like to just keep them in the living room rather than being frustrated that they belong in his bedroom and are constantly out anyway. Even when I put them away he takes them right back out!
A flea market sounds fun! Do you like that sort of thing? We used to go to places like that and I have a bunch of old pitchers in pretty shades of blue and cream that I use to decorate. We don't really have space for more though so I have to be careful what I buy and think where I will keep it!
Did last night with your sister go well?
๐Talk to you later
@IsayUncle I am just checking in to see if you are around, but looks like you are probably still out. I started working on the medical supply project and then randomly decided to paint a cabinet I have in my kitchen/dining area. It is a pretty, but old and beat up cabinet with a long drawer on top, two cabinet style doors below it, and then two more long drawers on the bottom. We use the main cabinet part as a pantry/snack area for the kids and the drawers for other storage. Anyway, it was white but looked dingy with chipped paint, so I painted it a pretty sea green color. I really like the look of it a lot better now. My moods are very affected by clutter and mess and also beauty and color. If things are pretty and clean and colors I like it makes me happy. If everything is cluttered and dark it is depressing. Maybe that's why I like nature so much. No clutter, just lots of pretty trees, plants, clouds, flowers, birds, wide open sky, and fresh air.
How was your flea market? Did you buy anything?๐
@Psalm139
It was a nice visit, last night and today. Niether one of us has room or the need to buy anything superficial but we did get some fruits and vegetables from the stands and I got weed-eating lines and a trailer hitch ball I needed. I did get/splurge on a couple of Hen & Rooster collectable pocket knives. She's left now for the week but will stop by again before heading out for good.
It was fine until i learned that there were some internships requirements to fulfill to complete the internship successfully. Honestly I had thought it was just about listening, and some small trial period requirements, now I need to work very hard, poor me
@IsayUncle
My day was okay. Nothing special really but at least I got to relax. I have been feeling really anxious so I have just been trying to deal with that.
@IsayUncle
What if I don't have a friend who is willing to listen to me
@interstellarbangtan that sounds super hard but you have us who you can.talk to
@IsayUncle Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.
I agree.
Sometimes a nice chat helps.
