5-57 exercise:
I am a person who tends to let stress an anxiety get the best of me sometimes. I have recently been trying different exercises to alleviate the feelings before they take hold of me. One thing I find that had really helped me is 5-5-7. This is how it’s done: “5-5-7.” Sit with your feet on the floor, in a comfortable position. Inhale for a count of 5. Hold your breath for 5. Exhale for 7. Give this a try and let me know how it went for you. Please remember to be kind and patient with yourself. Any new tools or techniques we learn can take some time to adjust to. *I should add that I do this for 3 minutes each time... * 3 minutes seems to be my magic number, but if at the end of 3 minutes you are still tense than I suggest continuing with the exercise for a few more minutes ❤️*
