World View: The Role of Literature in Mindfulness
Dear Readers,
As an avid reader books are incredibly important to me. Right now I am making my way down the list of classics and while some of them are controversial, I find it very important to always be seeking and searching for wisdom in every area of our lives. I believe literature that challenges conventional thinking is especially important. Also, certain philosophies can aid us in our journey toward mindfulness, meditation, and healing- while broadening our scope and understanding of the world around us.
Which books have resonated with you on your walk toward mindfulness?
*Going to Pieces Without Falling Apart: A Buddhist Perspective on Wholeness
by Mark Epstein, Charlie Conrad (Editor)
*Zen Buddhism: Selected Writings
by D.T. Suzuki, William Barrett (editor)
*Touched with Fire: Manic-Depressive Illness and the Artistic Temperament
by Vladimir Nabokov, Craig Raine (Afterword)
*No Time to Say Goodbye: Surviving The Suicide Of A Loved One
by Carla Fine
*Wisdom Walk: Nine Practices for Creating Peace and Balance from the World's Spiritual Traditions
by Sage Bennet

@blitheSun94 I love this book because it is a practical guide to coping with depression through meditation and mindfulness. There are Buddhist quotations but the text itself is very down to earth and practical
