Mindfulness Support - General Queries
Hello! :)
I would like to create a space for all those people who are new to mindfulness practice, as well as for those who are quite familiar or might even consider themselves to be experts in this field, to come together as one. :)
For all those who have queries on how to better their mindfulness skills, you can drop your questions here in this thread.
In return, those who are able to answer you from their experienced background can help you out.
How does this sound? :)
I now open the floor to those who would like to ask any questions :)
I guess you could say I'm new. I'm working with my therapist on mindfulness. Can't always remember to use my new skills when I need them.
I guess I have a mindfulness of panic attack, depression, stress, anxiety, frieghtened feeling, and I have a good since of feeling and I love to act in a not a weird way. What should I do??

Hi Selfconfident,
Reading through your question I wonder, have ever tried to practice mindful meditation?
Meditation helps with quietening your mind, by grounding you into the the present moment, bringing you in touch with what is truly important.
You can find more in dept information about mindfulness and the benefits of it in this forum: http://tinyurl.com/ouqd9r8
Perhaps, you can try one of the Meditations in the Mood Boost section, and let us know what you think then? If you are new to it, do give yourself a couple of times to try the exercise out, as it can be daunting to newcomers until they learn how to adjust. It's similar to learning how to ride a bycicle... you first flail a lot.. then a little less.. then it becomes much smoother and that's when you really are able to enjoy the practice.
Let us know your thoughts! :)
I am new to mindfulness and meditation, and in some ways, listening to the audio files helps me to relax, but if I try to follow the instructions, I run into problems at step one.
No matter how I relax myself or how slow my breathing becomes, the moment a directed meditation exercise tells me to focus on my breathing, I lose all ability to control my breathing. I try to keep slow, and it doesn't feel like I'm getting enough air. Before I know it, I'm breathing like I just ran up the stairs. The only way I can relax through these things is to completely ignore my breathing.
Anybody have any advice on this one?
