Mindfulness Daily Check In April 11, 20
Meditated, and quieted my mind this morning.
Stopped thought for a couple minutes.
This allows me to be more fully present in each new moment. I can be fresh and new.
It also allows me to receive thoughts from Source, to see more from Source
Hello All,
I sat and tried to practice vipasana, or insight meditation, by first focusing on the breath. I find it so difficult to not try to consciously control my breathing and I find it so hard to just observe. But its OK that this practice is difficult, and its more than OK that I have to continuously redirect my focus back to the body or back to letting go and just observing.
I feel very lucky that I have a place to sit outside and feel nature around me. It helps me connect to the moment and helps ease the urge toward domestic distractions. I find my mind wanders, but then the quiet rush of wind in the trees or sweet birdsong wakes me up and brings me back. ❤️
Its hard to imagine that the short amount of time spent practicing mindfulness (right now its under 10 mins) can have an impact on a day thats 95% not mindful and hectic and hurried ... but it does I feel it.
@BumblebeeHeart Thank you!
I also have a daily meditation practice. A couple years ago I learned to use a low humming sound, such as a fan or air conditioner, to focus on in order to distract me from my thoughts.
Once I adopted this technique, I found that I was able to stop my thoughts for a minute or two during a 15 minute meditation session.
Stopping thought serves a similar purpose to clearing cookies and browsing history, or rebooting a computer: It lets me start fresh.
I can feel myself more present in the moment; whatever was there before is gone. I can feel whatever Im feeling (usually positive emotion of some kind), and a new perspective arises from it.
Its like being a kid again, with infinite possibilities available to me. -Pure Joy! 😄❤️🙏🏼

I liked reading your post and use of the term Source. ❤️
I personally find it extremely theraputic and healing to use such terms, imagery, and focus to feel connected, safe, guided and loved.
The best way to pursue this path is to join a Zendo/Sangha next to you and follow a practice like Sto Zen or Rinzai. Ultimately the mindfuness practice is to help the community and let the mind stopping zeroing on yourself uniquely. Peace is in the other.
@Charlielove
the best way ?
