I do try but it can be hard when my mind is so focused on stressing out with dysphoria.


Does anyone have any good tips for self-care when your subconscious mind is freaking out so much? How can I calm It?

i'm not trans myself, so i dont know what dysphoria feels like but im sorry to hear ur stressed 🙁

i also struggle with self care bc im neurodivergent, and i freak out especially when i think of going to school ;; but there are things that help me practice self care even when im overwhelmed

i personally give myself time to take a break and enjoy something i like doing, like drawing or playing a game !! then when i feel content after, i ask myself if i want to try taking a shower or cleaning my room, that kind of self care. it's important that you ask yourself if you WANT to do those things, not telling yourself i WILL do those things. that way, it makes it an option rather than something you have to do anyway. eventually you learn that making self care an option causes it to become more preferable, almost like a hobby !

I hope your able to manage your stress levels when you freak out.


Thank you for the suggestions. I do enjoy playing games, or watching some anime or movie and that can help. But the stress always comes back again. It's a never ending battle!
