Am I being misgendered?

I'm a trans guy (teen) and I live down south but my entire family is from up north. I get called "sweetheart" and "hun" a lot, which to me is southern. Am I being misgendered, or that just a thing for everyone down here?

Thanks guys.

@Louie34

They’re common terms of endearment over in the South! :D They’re not gendered, boys also get called “sweetheart” and “hun/hon” as a sign of protectiveness. You may also get called mijo (Spanish term of endearment for guys), mija being the feminine form. Thank you for checking in and asking, I recognize it can be a bit of a shock hearing that and it’s great that you’re mindful about people’s intentions in how they refer to you.
