🌈 Share Your Coming Out Story & Offer Support! 🌈
by CheeryMango
Last post
November 11th
...See more Hey everyone! Pride Month is a time to celebrate our identities, honor our journeys, and support one another. One of the most personal and powerful experiences for many in the LGBTQ+ community is the act of coming out. Whether you’ve already come out, are considering it, or are just here to support others, this is a safe space for you to share your story and offer encouragement. How to Participate: * Share Your Story: If you’re comfortable, share your coming out story with us. How did you come out? What was the experience like for you? How did it impact your life? * Offer Support: For those who have already come out, please offer advice, support, and encouragement to others who might be considering taking this step. * Ask for Advice: If you’re thinking about coming out and have questions or need support, don’t hesitate to ask here. We’re all here to help each other. ------------------------- Note: Please be respectful and supportive of everyone’s experiences. We are here to create a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Straight Married Crossdresser

...See more I'm not sure where to post this. I'm happily married for a long time. Been a closeted crossdresser since my early teen years. I recently came out to my wife and it caused a huge issue understandably. We got through the first rough patch a couple years ago. This year, my desire has been more up front and she allowed me to paint my toe nails. Within a couple days, she asked that I remove the toe nail polish as it was triggering her. I lover her and have no desire to be apart from her. I'm struggling with how to cope as it's clearly become a one or the other situation.

Resources on exercises?
by SneeblerGurl
Last post
May 21st
...See more Basically I talked to a counsellor and since I can't really start properly transitioning until I move out hopefully next year (because of parents and stuff) she recommended that I do some research on HRT, maybe do some exercises to get my body in a way I was happy with, get a job etc. What I'm asking about here is the exercise part. I'm 6'1/6'2 (can't remember since I last measured) at 17 and quite stocky, I'm also... Tubbier than I want to be? So I really want to slim down and get my body way more feminine, ideally with exercises I can do in my room, and I have two small dumbbells with adjustable weight. Other than that I can go for walks, but that's basically the extent of the freedoms I have when it comes to working out. If you knew any links to workout guides or just general workout advise so I could prime(???) my body for when I am able to take HRT that would be 1000000000% appreciated. Also, any advise on sticking to a workout routine because that's what I struggle with the most since it is a lot of effort and I've never stuck it out enough to see results and keep me motivated. Tyty.

Stepping Under the Asexual Umbrella for Ace Week
by EmotionsListener
Last post
October 24th, 2023
...See more This week we’ve been celebrating Ace Week, trying to raise awareness and educate people about the experiences of people under the “asexual umbrella” including, but certainly not limited to, those who identify as asexual, aromanic, demisexual, and grey-asexual. [Image depicts the asexual flag] So first some basic definitions: * Asexual - a person who does not experience sexual attraction. * Aromantic - a person who doesn’t experience romantic attraction. * Demisexual - a person who can only experience sexual attraction after an emotional bond is formed. * Grey-asexual/Grey-a/Greysexual - a person who identifies in the area between asexuality and sexuality, which may include only experiencing attraction very rarely, in specific circumstances or at such a low intensity it’s almost non-existent. * Attraction is a force that draws people together. Some types of attraction can include aesthetic, romantic, sensual, and sexual. * Aesthetic attraction - attraction based on appearance that is not romantic or sexual. * Romantic attraction - having strong romantic feelings for or wanting to be romantically involved with someone. * Sensual attraction - desire to have non-sexual physical contact with someone else, which can include cuddling, hugging, and kissing that doesn’t lead to sex. * Sexual attraction - desire to have sexual contact or share sexuality with someone else. [Image consists of a set of ace of hearts cards depicting artistic interpretations of the asexual, aromantic, demisexual and greysexual flags.] While there can be many myths and misunderstandings about asexuality, here are some basic facts: Asexuality isn’t broken, it’s not a disorder or an imbalance of hormones, and does not need to be cured, though some ace people may have physical or mental conditions. Asexuality doesn’t prevent people from experiencing aesthetic, romantic or sensual attraction, though some ace people won’t experience those either. Asexuality doesn’t mean a person won’t have romantic relationships and/or engage in sexual activity. Asexuality is not the same as celibacy or abstinence, though some ace people may be celibate or abstinent. Asexuality is not a fear of sex, though there may be ace people who experience fear or have an aversion to sex and relationships. And a bonus: Demisexuality isn’t the same as a person simply choosing to abstain from sexual activity until an emotional bond is established, it’s about attraction not action. Questions: * Can you think of any other misconceptions about asexuality that need to be addressed? If you are asexual, what is one thing you wish more people understood? * Asexuality is often stigmatized and looked over as an identity, making people who are asexual feel marginalized by both mainstream culture and the LGBT+ community, what can we do to be more inclusive and understanding? * As we wrap up Ace week, do you have a message you wish you could send to all people who identify under the asexual umbrella? ...See more Happy pride month awesome lgbtq+ community! If comfortable share with me in replies <3 What are your pronouns and your preferred name?? How do you identify?? What makes pronouns and chosen names such an important context is in fact, that how you are referred to is not only one of the hugest things, giving a person sense of identity and comes as a way of expressing who they truly are, but also others saying it and using it in daily conversations is a way of showing acceptance and acknowledgment of one’s identity by people around them A way of experiencing one’s true self and having it seen and validated With that said, being referred to with wrong pronouns or dead names (the name assigned at birth that does not fit in with the gender identity one identifies with) can come as extremely hurtful, especially if a person is out and is being referred to intentionally in a wrong way Even as a closeted Trans or non-binary person being referred to in a wrong way can be a trigger for more extreme social and mental dysphoria and cause a sense of being invalidated or being unseen as who they are, the very known feeling of being in the wrong body, or carrying a heavy weight of wrong identity ~ if someone uses more than one pronouns, using either of those is okay but it's usually preffered to switch between the chosen pronouns, for example for a friend of mine using she/they prounouns, i'd go like, "they came to my place and when i asked them about their kid, she said..." A reminder that who you are, and how you view your identity and yourself is completely valid, accepted and enough exactly the way you are ~ If someone misgenders you: Don’t be afraid of correcting them, if the idea of correcting people makes you uncomfortable you can make it easier for yourself by practicing with your reflection in the mirror or a friend/family member you are out to You can also ask someone you are out to, to help you with correcting people either by telling them upfront or using the right pronouns in front of them As an ally you need to know that: ~ asking is better than mistaking, please do not “assume” one’s pronouns by their clothes, or their sexual body parts it’s always okay to ask a person what pronouns they use or, how would they like you to call them, most people will be happy to have you ask and respect their answer keeping it in mind in future conversation ~ if asking is not possible for you in a given situation, it’s safe to use they/them pronouns until you can be sure, in the meanwhile, listen for people close to them referring to the person ~ a person’s “real” name is their chosen name and the way they identify is their “only gender”, asking for birth names and gender assigned at birth is a rude and inappropriate act ~ Do not out a person, unless they are asking you to help with coming out ~ do not push your idea of a label someone has chosen on them, every one’s experience is unique and that is completely okay and won’t make their experience any less real ~ you may make mistakes and misgender the person at times which is completely okay and normal, humans make mistakes, if you misgender someone: * Don’t argue or take it badly if they or someone else corrects you * Either If you are corrected by someone or you notice your mistake yourself, don’t make a big deal of it, that can make it uncomfy both for you and the person you misgendered * Apologize briefly, correct yourself and move on trying to be more careful in the rest of conversation more to come on dysphoria and how to cope with it!

...See more 1. It means the freedom to love who you want without fear 2. It means equality for all 3. It means homophobia is that much closer to dying If you want help in supporting, I am always here. Laws, religion, or anything else should not cause people to judge others, just love them. My brother is opnely gay and married to man. He is a good man. He deserves freedom and equality. You would not want someone to say to you that the partner your with is wrong - why must he endure it?
