QPR advice

kittyratmushroom October 26th, 2022

So recently (after my last relationship ended) I’ve figured out that I’m more into Queer-platonic relationships (QPRs) over romantic relationships. I want one of my friends to be my zucchini (queer-platonic partner [QPP]) but I don’t know if they are interested in that. I’ve never asked someone to be in a non-romantic relationship before.

with my friend, I want to do all the things that friends do

-Movies

-Sleepovers

-Hanging out

-Talking

-Hugs

-etc.

but on a deeper lever if that makes sense.

And he has recently been talking to me a lot more just as I have to them.

I don’t really know what to do; any advice is welcome.

(I’m also trying to figure out where I am on the aroace spectrum)

Thanks :)

@kittyratmushroom

Hello!

I'm glad you are discovering more about yourself! It does make sense. You want a deeper connection, than that on a friend level. But, platonically. Which is great that you can identify your wants! Have you talked to your friend about their views on relationships? Hope you are well. 💛💫

I don't have any advice but thanks for sharing, I was unaware that a platonic partner is called a zucchini! That is adorable. oh and a website you should check out is called AVEN (asexuality visibility and education network) And I think it is really cool!
