What is your ideal life?
What would your ideal life look like? Does it vary much from your current life? Are you taking any steps towards your ideal life or have any related goals?
@magicalTree4461
I have never considered what ideal life would look like. When i ponder the future i see ruin and decay not perfection.
@Gettingbettertoday That sounds difficult. Have you ever tried to process and learn more about these feelings? ☺️
@magicalTree4461
I have not. I am not aware of any emotions related to this.
@Gettingbettertoday I meant feelings and thoughts/
@magicalTree4461
The feeling is melancholy. My thought is i am already 5/7th of the way through life. Everything is downhill from here. My income, My health, My personal relationships.
@magicalTree4461 my ideal life, I'd be healthy I wouldn't be disabled and in constant pain. If live in cabin in the woods, I'd have a magic freezer and fridge and food cupboard and whenever I want something it would appear. I'd be happy all the time. I'd have a hot tub, and access to all my needs. It would be beautiful cabin with beautiful surroundings, I wouldn't have all these ugly scars, and I'd be safe, no more living in fear ❤ and yep! That's the opposite of my life

For me, what seems to stand out is how different my ideal life looked like just one year ago compared to now. They are starkly different from one another, and both of them varied greatly from the life I had been currently living. Funny how that happens, right...
I think one of the first steps I'm taking toward my new ideal life is accepting the new life I'm currently in, holding space for myself here in all the ways that need be. I'm still grieving a lot of my recent past and things I feel I'm missing out on, and so thinking so far forward seems insurmountable, but something I daydream about often.
For now, I merely dream of simplicity. My ideal life looks like this, currently:
By Christmas, my apartment is clean, organized, and sterilized. I've gone through my diagnostic tests of the month and have no side effects from them, thankful that I'm in no extra pain and knowing that progress is being made on my physical health. I have clean, cozy clothes. My dog is healthy and happy. I am able to eat food and drink water every day without struggle. Plus, in my ideal world, I feel love and a sense of community. One of my goals is to continue my daily streak here on 7cups and to have a daily streak on Finch, a self-care app I've used for a long while.
Thanks for the prompt!
Those are great goals. I wish for you health and happiness. Simplicity is definitely great and also something I strive for. Too much complexity or too much going on is much too distracting. I am curious about the Finch app now 🤔
@magicalTree4461
Thank you ☺️ The Finch app is so fun! You grow a birb, have a treehouse, and it helps you keep track of things while making it fun. They usually do a different seasonal event every month too, and your reply just reminded me of my goal so I get to see what the seasonal event looks like for December! Yay🥰🤗!
@magicalTree4461
I'm wanting to have more fun. So I've been practicing enjoying biking. Like instead of just head down, push push push, I try find fun lines and am practicing ollies. I even went to the skatepark for a bit a few days ago.
And I'm learning a new song on my guitar...I want to open a cafe/library and have open mic nights. So have been speaking to business owners and looking into entrepreneurship programs.
Hmmm. Am also trying to stress less. And housework stresses me tf out. So I bought myself some nice natural sponges for dishes, a natural brush for the shower.
And to give myself a break from washing dishes three to five time a day, every day, for decades, I bought paper plates, cups, forks, spoons and knives. I've never done it and have always been super mindful of the environment but my middle child genes have taken over I guess.
Glad to hear you are looking for more fun. Have you also tried playing guitar during open mic nights of other cates or libraries? I think buying fresh new supplies can definitely help motivation in cleaning.
@magicalTree4461
I've done open mics, played casually at gatherings like around campfires and played at a charity fundraiser.
I haven't done those things in a while.
I'm clocking a couple places in my new city and practicing...learning new songs and networking.
@magicalTree4461
Maybe something like this?
Crap why didn't that load

I love the visual, how did you put that together? I would love to make something visual for myself!
