Why is this world a hellish nightmare that none of us can wake up from?

How long has this nightmare being going on now friend.

I can relate so much to this post. I literally wrote exactly the same thing in my journal yesterday; that the world is like a nightmare none of us can wake up from. It's a very sad, scary, and powerless feeling. Reading your question made me feel less alone in struggling with this, so thank you for sharing it. I don't have the answer to your question unfortunately; I don't understand why the world is like this either. I'm trying to cope by doing small things to make the world a bit less hellish, journalling and meditating. It's hard though. Have you found any answers or anything that helps you cope?

@ADX98927 Why? Because people are greedy, self righteous, violent a$sH07$! Some of them are just cheerleaders of the violence without actually committing the violence themselves. But they will tell you how they are good and noble and pure and how they are really against the “really bad” people. This insanity has been with humans since the beginning of time, and we are, like our long dead ancestors still dumbfounded by man’s inhumanity to man. And we also recognize that we are not all monsters, and that there is a tremendous good in human beings. This insanity goes through cycles, and unless someone reminds us of history, this insanity seems shocking and new. There are new features - frightening new features of this phase of the cycle, but it is nothing new. The only hope I can offer is, because it is a cycle, we will eventually reach the calm, peaceful, prosperous phase. Your question, “Why?” probably isn’t going to get a good answer. It’s still an important question especially if we can answer “how” do we stop being outrageously cruel pricks. I have some answers, but the outrageously cruel pricks are too ignorant to listen. On an individual level, how can you survive through it, or be an agent of change perhaps?
