This is so very true. As I was just at auditions for a musical and a play last night, I read it from the actor/actress point of view.

And perhaps especially with actors, we want approval and then shoot our own foot when we feel like we don't measure up to whatever impossible standard we set for ourselves. Partially impossible simply because we do not *know* what the director and leadership are looking for in auditions. We need to work at being professionally our own selves - and if that is what the director wants, then great!
