I do remember you getting your CDL and the equipment. How long are you going to be working long hours? Hopefully not too long - you sound exhausted!

I am doing ok - everyone is ok. Just starting to feel extra tired and blah again. I’m going to the doctor later this week and am trying to decide if I should get back on something.

Just getting tired of the same old rat race huh? Nothing new & exciting going on, but with the same old ton of responsibilities.  you're a large and beautiful family put you through a lot.

I'm gonna hit the sack right now but we'll talk some more tomorrow if you want to.

Did you know that your profile page still does not work. It seemed like it wasn't working last year when we were talking. I wanted to see your new picture I know you like to put new profile pictures up but I can't get to it.

Psalm139 September 1st

Yep just tired, overwhelmed, and unmotivated I guess. Sorry you can’t see my profile. I put in a request to have it fixed but they never responded last time so who knows.

I'm sorry to hear that. We sure do fall into some bad slumps sometimes. Sounds like that's where you're at.

Do you wanna try to stay in touch this week? Just talk about what we're doing and what we're trying to do.

I'd like to see your profile picture, will it be OK for you to post it here? 😊

I'll take a picture of my kitchen....... for disaster a relief program. 🤣😱😂

@IsayUncle

We can talk this week if you have time - if just sounded like you didn’t have time so I didn’t want to write a bunch of stuff and then have you feel pressured to respond.

My kitchen looks like that too sometimes and actually doesn’t look much better right now! It looks like you just need to throw away some trash, put some things away, and do the dishes. Do you have today off? When I have a big mess to start with I like to do a little at a time. Especially when my energy and motivation are so low like they are now.

Other than grocery shopping and cooking some easy meals, cleaning is my main goal today. And then TKD this afternoon.

img-5482_1725201349.jpeg

I blacked out a few things so hopefully that’s ok!

Well, now, look at you.... Pretty and Proud. (You are & You should be proud) It sounds like you guys have really stuck with it. That looks like some kind of award or accomplishment so congratulations on that. That is fantastic (thanks for posting pic) 😀

It is true that I'm lacking time for long conversations but sometimes it's just nice to talk about what's going on for the day just to get it out there or get it off our chest and just to be seen or heard sometimes without really expecting a solution. I think i have a bit more time next week.... out of the frying pan but not out of the hot kitchen yet. LOL.

I hope your chores and cleaning go nicely today. Mine is starting off good but i'll probably bail on the housework in a while to do a vehicle repair and some work preperation for tomorrow.

Don't be afraid to post as you'd like.... you might just get a heart of support sometimes but just know I think you are amazing and relevant.  💗

I am having a pretty good day so far. Got the dishes done and laundry going and went to Aldi with one of my daughters. TKD in a couple of hours so not sure how much more I will get done. I need to give the little guy a shower and do a little yoga.

The picture is from our awards dinner last year and I got the award for most traditional technique. I think the awards were randomly assigned lol. But it was fun - ish. Super loud.

How are your projects going? Do you get tomorrow off?

HA HA..... I missed this post earlier, I was just stopping in to say hey and see what you had going on for the weekend.

I have to laugh at the before and after picture idea; because it was before and that was after and now it looks the same as it was before hahahaahhahah.

I'm almost climbing myself out of the mess I got myself into. Today was the first day I made it home mid afternoon daylight hours. That felt good. I still have a job to get planned out and I wanna make out some work forms that encompass repetitive materials in calculations so that'll make it a lot easier for me in the future. The septic system I have to put in is complicated for me 'cause it's the first time I've done a system with these components. It's not abstract or difficult for the knowledgeable but for the first time I'm in a little bit of a learning curve, I think i'll get it after some studying and calculations 😁

How was your week? Or any good plans for the weekend?

22 replies
Psalm139 September 6th

Good to hear from you! I wasn’t sure if you missed the posts or were busy or what. I’m glad you’re doing better and on your way to a less demanding schedule!

I had a pretty good week. We started school and got probably 80% of what I planned done. I am happy with that as it’s hard with so many people changing from their summer routines (me included!).

Yesterday morning I went to the doctor and got bloodwork done and my antidepressant prescribed. The only thing they found was low vitamin d. Not deficient, but almost. It was 33 and the low end of normal is 30. So I am supposed to take that every day to get it up.

Also took the boys to church on Wednesday night and took the girls to practice driving. We are going again tonight. It’s stressful but feels good to get them starting to be more independent.

No big weekend plans for me. What about you?

21 replies
IsayUncle OP September 6th

@Psalm139

That sounded like a well-rounded week for a very busy mom. i was wondering how the driving lessons were going. That's cool that you're leaning into it. I'm sure you're pretty nervous too, I know some parents get pretty bad about it.... understandbly. She'll be awesome!

I hope the antidepressants help you out for awhile. Sometimes it takes that little extra bit to take the edge off and get back on track and if you feel like that's the right thing to do and that's the right thing to do and I'm sure that you will feel better so that is very good.. Seeing that you had quit, perhaps you'll be able to enjoy the relief for awhile but not get dependent on them for long term.. Just saying it would be nice if you get a fresh brain again after a while😉.

My big plans are to try to get my house back in order but more importantly get the septic system designed and have a parts list ready to order on Monday so that I can get everything delivered. I may or may not go out there on Sunday to start digging.. I haven't had any time off in so long but at the same time the sooner I get this monkey off my back the sooner I'd really be able to regroup not relax but redo my schedule and an easier pace.

September 16th is surgery day and I'll be down for six to eight weeks after that. If if I i can swing the finances I'll be OK with everything else.

19 replies
Psalm139 September 7th

Do you have someone that can check on you after your surgery? That’s a pretty long recovery time. I can see why you’ve been working so hard! September 16 is coming up! Is that inpatient or outpatient? It will be nice to have a break but could be hard resting a shoulder for that long too.

Your septic system project seems like a big project! Way over my head! I’m sure you can figure it out though🙂. Maybe you can go back and forth between that and working on the house. I have to get my house cleaned this weekend too.

I feel good about starting my medicine again. I just know I will feel better and it will be worth it. It’s just hard going to the appointments to get it. But the kind I am on helps with anxiety too and she said she can give me an extra as needed medication for my anxiety for when it gets really bad.

Im glad you checked in! I thought you didn’t want to talk anymore as you seem pretty close to some others on the group thread.

@Psalm139

Oh no not at all. We've all been just talking for awhile and sometimes we don't talk to everyone for weeks at a time. But it's really nice that we know we got some place to come back to talk and the longer time goes on the more we get to know each other so it's all good. I know you don't like crowds but you fit in wonderfully when you manage to test the waters 😀.

It's also nice having our own space too. You do tend to dissapear sometimes (and that's A-OK) but I'm always thrilled when you drop back in to say hi. YAY...

Psalm139 September 7th

Yeah I’m sorry I disappear. I know you prefer the group chats and it’s hard to do both, but a lot of the time that is too much for me. You just get random people sometimes that aren’t very nice. And I can’t really handle that.

IsayUncle OP September 7th

@Psalm139

Good Morning. Today I'm not so pressurized to get out of the house and go to a job but I do have to get out and do some inquiries about some septic tank parts.

I'm gonna try to get a little bit more housework done so I feel better about that.

I forgot to answer your question about my surgery. It's a rotator cuff repair and I guess they're gonna sew together some muscles or something. It's an outpatient surgery that will start early in the morning probably take 5 or 6 hours before I can leave the hospital. They have to put me under anesthseia so I got someone to bring me up I'm back so I don't have to drive.

I Hope you have a good Saturday, with purpose and not too much anxiety. Throw in a dose of relaxation if you can 😀.

It good you have someone lined up to take you to your surgery. Are you nervous or ready to get it done or both?

IsayUncle OP September 7th

@Psalm139

Thanks. i do get up early but sometimes not so much..... the past few weeks ive not been sble to get out of bed until the very very last minute.

I'm not nothing about the surgery, hope it goes good of course, will live with whatever though... no choice. 😆.

It does mark a milestone though. Along with the healing of my arm comes reality of having all my equipment that I need under my own roof, if that makes any sense. So it's kind of like my surgery is the end of a struggle and the healing will be an overall kind of a new beginning I've been working towards. So the surgery doesn't bother me but the significance of the timing is important.

Ever since we've known each other I've been doing nothing but laying a foundation, kind of one after the other. Being forced in One Direction or another direction by situations to get what I think I needed. I'm thankful and happy to say that I got what I need so now I can start planning my own stuff after my arm heals so I'm really looking forward to that.

Today today was a big day of septic inquiries and long overdue errands in the big city I got all my stuff out of my car and I gotta bring it in and put everything away but it was all long overdue so I'm glad I got all that done. Enjoying some ice cold tonics right now.

What did you end up doing today?

13 replies
Psalm139 September 8th

I ended up being super lazy and just mostly existing today lol. I forgot how tired the medicine makes me while I am adjusting to it. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little better. My back has been messed up since yesterday too. We were doing a new jump kick Thursday night and I must have landed wrong.

It sounds like you had a successful day! It’s awesome that you are looking at everything as a new beginning. I hope the surgery works though! What is a tonic? Alcohol I’d guess?

IsayUncle OP September 8th

@Psalm139

That's right about the antidepressant. I forgot about that too. (needing rest) BUT making you feel tired all the time is definetly not a good thing. (too bad there'e no magic spell we could use sometimes 🤣) Maybe for now it's not a horrible thing because it is more rest that we need when we're feeling bad. it'll take a bit to find your zone but you'll do ok. 😀

my seven cup site was down all morning but then I just cleared up all my cookies and was able to get it up. I thought it was the site itself but I guess it was my cookies.

I sorry about your back. btw it was gin and tonic water. 😁. I'm just doing house chores today trying to get things lined up too for my job next week. Still feeling quite a bit behind the 8 ball and pressurized but it is what it is. 😬

Psalm139 September 8th

How are the chores going? I managed to get groceries with my daughter. She drove on some pretty challenging roads and did great! Still feeling sedated but I know it will feel better as I adjust. I do have TKD tonight, so that could be interesting. My body doesn’t really feel tired, just my brain. We’ll see!

Hope you’re having a good day!

@Psalm139

Thats good, she did well 😊.

Maybe take less..... 1/2 the dose ???? it should still help without the drastic impact.... maybe it'll be nicer. 🤔, idk, just a thought.

i'm forcing myself towards some outdoor chores. Burnpile and move equipment. ugggggh! I did terrible this weekend!

9 replies
Psalm139 September 9th

Yeah, taking less probably would have worked better. I probably shouldn’t without talking to the doctor though and I hate making calls. I did make it through TKD tonight. It wasn’t my favorite class but it was ok. We did board breaking which I am horrible at, but the instructor did compliment me on the height of my kicks (which he almost never does) so that felt good.

Im sorry you feel like you weren’t very productive this weekend. Was this afternoon any better?

@Psalm139

Good morning, i hope you have a good day. yeah, it's probably a good idea to talk to your doctor. I know what you mean about making phone calls and then appointments etcetera etcetera. 😕

I got another hard week lined up. Not getting done what I needed this weekend set me up behind the 8 ball. My dogs kept me up all night barking at coyotes I think. So I'm feeling a bit grumpy this morning. 😬

Psalm139 September 9th

Oh I wanted to ask about the dogs! I hoped you still had them, but I’m sorry they kept you up all night. I’m also sorry you feel behind 🙁. That’s not a fun way to start the week.

Im pretty behind with the house. I’m up early though so maybe I can get a few things done after my coffee and before kids are up.

It’s going ok. I got a jury summons but put in a dependent care excuse today and it was approved within a couple of hours thankfully. I went to church tonight for Bible study. That was good. I’m pretty tired still. I’ve been taking naps but still SO tired.

How has your week been so far? Do you have SIX dogs?

yes.... picked up 3 strays planning to find homes for them.... oooops..... didn't happen,  but they are an amazing threesome! 😁.

glad u freed up ur time for jury duty... good job. 😀

Have a great day!

3 replies
Psalm139 September 12th

Well jury duty really wouldn’t have been possible because I do Jaxon’s catheters every three hours. No one else knows how to do it and he can’t do it himself yet. But the last time it took a lot longer to be excused and they just postponed it, so I am relieved to have it taken care of.

Lol, six dogs! That’s quite a bit of work (and food!) I bet! Are they all inside dogs?

2 replies
IsayUncle OP September 13th

@Psalm139

I'm sorry to hear about Jax catheters. I thought for a while there he was getting away from them a little bit and I guess I assumed as time went on he wouldn't need them so much.

As for the dogs, I smartened up and kept those 3 newbies outside. I got plenty of dog shelters for them so they're good but I do have to restraw all the dog houses. I gotta make sure to get that done by winter time so they got a nice cozy place stay warm

1 reply
Psalm139 September 13th

Yeah for a while it seemed to be going better but when we stopped doing the night catheters he stopped being able to go on his own during the day. And the doctor thinks the time we didn’t do the night catheters is what allowed his bladder stone to form. So we are back to using catheters all the time to make sure he is fully emptying.

I think it’s smart to keep some of the dogs outside. Six dogs in the house would be a lot! It’s good you’re thinking about making warm places for them for winter though 💛

It has been a heck of a few weeks.😕

I'm going for my arm surgery in a few hours. I wasn't able to get anything in my world ready for that. I'm fraught with worry about my finances. I'm pretty sure I'll be cashing in all my coinage before the six weeks is out. My hot water heater is still broken. I don't know if I'll be able to fix that with one arm. And the house is in the same mess.

Didn't do too good for myself there miss Morgan. I get so tired of trying sometimes. I think I'm looking for an excuse to do absolutely nothing so I guess my wish came true I won't be able to do much with one arm and I am actually looking forward to that.

Sorry about the gloom and doom but that's where things are at the moment.

I hope you had a good weekend and your spirits are better than mine. 😊

I’m sorry you weren’t having a good morning before your surgery. Is it all over now? It’s good that you have an excuse to rest. You’ve been working so hard, you’re probably majorly burnt out!

I get tired of trying too, you know I understand that. It’s a bummer that you are behind and didn’t get everything done that you hoped. Hopefully when you are all healed up you will feel rested and ready to try again.

Check in when you can and let me know how you are, please! 💛

IsayUncle OP September 17th

@Psalm139

Thanks for your kindness, you're awesome. I'm looking forward to having all this time to my own self. I think it's kind of a blessing in disguise. I didn't get a chance to talk to the doctor but the surgery went relatively well I think. He told my driver that it was worse than he thought and he could not get it all so I don't know what that means. I rested up when I got home with lots of medication and today I'll start making phone calls and talking to nurses to see exactly what's going on.

Everything that I worked hard for, I've actually achieved but learning how to navigate it effectively is just another big obstacle to overcome. So I think this forced downtime it's really a blessing. There is a ton of organizational work that I can do and that should make things better when I start working again.

So how about you, How's your week starting off?

16 replies
Psalm139 September 17th

Hmm, not being able to get it all doesn’t sound the best. I hope you are able to get some answers today about what is going on.

You have a really good attitude about the rest. I think it will be a blessing for you too. And getting caught up on organizational stuff is always good - but maybe a couple of days off completely would be good first. Hopefully the pain isn’t too bad?

My week has been ok. I’m a little less tired. I’ve still been anxious even with the medication. My instructor offered to let us test at the school instead of the big gym testing, so we will do that on Saturday. I am still nervous for that.

Today is my second daughter’s bday and we are getting together with a TKD friend (a friend of all of ours but he is 19 and especially likes my daughter- they are both amazing at TKD) and going for a hike. I’ve never driven to the place and I’m picking him up first and then he wants to take us all to the store and buy us snacks before. So of course all of this is a lot for me but I’m trying!

Let me know how things are going!

💛

@Psalm139

That sounds like a fun day. Getting out and about like that may raise your anxiety a little bit but in this situation it sounds like it's worth it.. I wasn't sure if you were hiking with them or just dropping them off. You'll probably be the third wheel if you go hiking with them but in its own weird way that's could be kinda fun and you should enjoy the hike anyway.😁. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your daughter. 🍰

Did you guys ever get a chance to do much camping this season? I know you used to like doing that.

It's a good thing that you're feeling a little less tired this week, I'm glad to hear that. Why is the school gym testing better than the big gym testing? A lot less people or closer or....?🤔

If you get a chance let me know how your hiking trip went today. We had a little bit of rain today but the temperature has been nice lately. My arm is not in a lot of pain. I think the medication from the hospital finally wore off several hours ago but I've been taking the pain medication they gave me so I can feel it a little bit but in the sling it's not hurting me.

15 replies
Psalm139 September 18th

I’m so glad to hear you are doing ok and not in too much pain! What did you end up doing today? I hope you are able to enjoy your rest and not get overwhelmed by what you can’t do. It’s nice that you have had good weather. It is still so hot here!

We had a good day! I was anxious and overwhelmed for parts of it, but my daughter had a good day for her birthday. Hiking went well - all of the kids were there - not just my daughter and the friend, so it wasn’t weird at all. He is good with all the kids and was carrying my youngest on his shoulders a lot of the time.

This afternoon my daughter did the in school tournament (like a practice tournament at the school) and got first in all three events - forms, breaking, and sparring. She also helped to judge the younger kids for their events. She was super nervous but did it anyway!

As far as the testing, the gym is just really big and there are so many kids and parents and a panel of judges at the front. The school testing is just like doing a class and then you do all your forms and break a board. Still stressful but not to the same level.

We went camping twice this year! Then we ran out of vacation days. Hopefully we can go more next year. It’s exhausting but still my favorite thing!

I think you're going to be completely pooped out today. A good pooped out. That was a lot of stuff  you did so it's no wonder you got a bit anxious and overwhelmed sometimes.

But it all sounds so positive that there has got to be a lot of goodness coming out of it and that's what you're doing and you can take that to the bank. That is just wonderful. Very cool that everyone went hiking, that was pretty neat.

I believe you told me that your daughter suffers some of the same anxiety that you do. If that is the case, that is awesome that she's pushing past her comfort level and doing that judging stuff for the younger kids. I think that's outstanding.

I ended up picking away at the dishes all day long and I got those done which was great. I also navigated a couple of reality obstacles, like taking off my shirt and learning how to remove and replace the arm sling I'm wearing.. Those took a couple of little extra inventions or innovations.

I didn't sleep well so I'm gonna try to set up the bed so I can stay propped up more I think I'll be able to sleep better and everything else is laundry laundry laundry today.

I hope you're able to get a good day's rest after such an exciting day yesterday.🤗

13 replies
Psalm139 September 18th

Gosh I didn’t even think about things like trying to get dressed with one arm! And doing dishes! Maybe you could get some paper plates? That’s awesome you got them done but that will be hard to keep up with I bet!

I hope you figure out a way to get some comfortable sleep. Is it because you can’t move into different positions? I would have such a hard time not moving around!

Hows the laundry going? I see you’ve already been up a while.

I am tired today. Partly because of yesterday and partly because I didn’t sleep well either. Maybe I’ll take a nap later.

My daughter does have anxiety! She did so awesome. I could never do it! She goes to these huge classes. She even said yesterday that she wants to try the next tournament!

Good morning, I modified my bed by taking a small cot mattress from my other bed and letting it roll up the headboard on top of some other pillows so I can sit up a little bit. That was more comfortable and I went back to sleep for awhile.. And yeah just laying flat on my back is not comfortable and I can't move around and the way I was positioned that was making my shoulder hurt also. This new way let's my shoulder sit better and it doesn't hurt as much to lay there.

That's a great idea about disposable kitchenware. I'll be home all day anyway so I'll have the time to do the dishes but if I don't or I get lazy I like that disposable kitchenware idea. Even though I am sensitive to one use items if you know what I mean. But everything has its place in time so that was a great idea. thx.

I didn't start the laundry yet. I was thinking about sleeping all day if I could but then I would probably have all kinds of aches and pains I'm laying around so I guess I better get at it. Now I think you should lay around all day take some good long naps if you can afford the time.

Well, you keep encouraging her and the more she interacts, it's possible to lessen her anxiety through positive reinforcement.. You should be very proud of her. 💗.

I thought I replied to this already but I guess not! I have been SO tired today. Just never caught up after getting up too early. I wasn’t very productive but did take the boys to church and went to Bible study during their class.

You are probably in bed by now! I hope your new set up works better for you!

I am the same way not wanting to waste money on disposable stuff but I think right now you have a very good excuse!

How have you been keeping busy? Watching any good shows? Do you read? Hopefully you aren’t worried about your office work quite yet!

@Psalm139

Hopefully you can catch up on a little bit more of your rest today.

Mostly I've just been sleeping dozing off watching TV if I'm not doing anything productive. Of course I was pretty tired from the surgery then I was pretty tired from not having a good night sleep and then last night or all day yesterday I got hit with a bad bout of Constipation. I guess that was from the medication and I'm still dealing with it this morning but it doesn't seem as severe.

So mostly I just been mucking through the day trying to make it through till tomorrow. Even though I'm not having pleasant days, it's nice not to have to do anything on a timetable so I'm taking advantage of that freedom.

I hope you have a good morning.. 😀💚

Psalm139 September 20th

Yesterday was a good day. I felt so much better after getting more sleep! Yesterday was my last TKD class as a low blue belt. Tomorrow I test for high blue. The best part of that is getting a new form to practice. I already know the form but will be able to practice it in class.

Of course today I woke up early again. I have a phone interview for Jaxon’s SSI at 9. I think it’s just to verify that things are still the same. Hopefully it goes ok.

I will probably take a nap later just so I don’t feel horrible all day. Maybe I’ll get a few things done before then. Coffee first though!

I hope you have a good day and keep feeling better and better! Call the doctor if the meds are still causing trouble. They can prescribe something to help with constipation. I have a couple of kids that have issues with that quite a bit and I give them polyethylene glycol powder mixed into a drink. It works well for them 💛

@Psalm139

Good morning, staying up with that SSI stuff it's a full time job. I know that you have little choice but it seems like you've done really good staying responsible with all of that. You're probably right about this SSI call just being a general follow up. But it'll still be good to have that out of the way. I hope it goes well

That's great about your TKD class. image_1726835394.png I hope you pass ur test. 😀.

I can't believe that my surgery's not giving me any problems what that freaking Constipation is knocking me down for two or three days.. I've never had to deal with anything like that before. Trying to deal with my doctors and they're such long distance away and it takes time to get the medicine it's not worth all the trouble. I'm gonna go get some prune juice today and see if that helps☹️.

I'm really frustrated because I wanted to get more stuff done but it is still early days after surgery. My arm feels great. Last night I was able to sleep on my side for the first time so I did get a little bit of rest. Not much though.

I'm gonna try to get mentally above the day and have a good one.. It's time for my coffee too. I was glad to hear you're feeling a little bit better, make sure you take that nap this afternoon.. Probably feel real good.

Talk to you later💚

I hope you got some good sleep last night and are feeling better today! Don’t worry about getting things done until you are up to it! I will be in a similar situation next week with my wisdom teeth getting pulled!

The call went well yesterday. Glad it’s over! And I will pass the test. He has never failed anyone since I’ve been there. He gives stripes for knowing your form, knowing the name and meaning, breaking, and sparring. So if you aren’t prepared you can’t test. It’s just the anxiety over being watched that gets to me I think :(.

Have a good day!

Good morning.... For you, I just broke into the afternoon hour 😊.

I totally understand that nagging feeling about the SSI phone call, even if you know things are going to be OK it's just a matter of being done with it. That kind of stuff can you really shut me down sometimes because I'm not really good at having too much on my plate at once. Happy dance for you until next time. YAAAAY 😁

Do you think jax is ever gonna be able to get off his catheters? Is he still on them everyday or 24/7?

Your suggestion for that glycol stuff was very good. I went shopping yesterday for good gut foodS. I picked up some prune juice and I got a container of that glycol powder. I was uncomfortable all day yesterday and so I use some and things happened the way they were supposed to and I'm feeling a little bit better today.. I know this is common for a lot of people but this is really crazy for me. I've never dealt with this level of Constipation but now I know why there's such a big issue. Lesson learned. I'm gonna use that powder everyday until I get to feeling normal.🤒. Thanks for your suggestion and input.

Today I'm being pretty productive considering I didn't get no sleep last night. Doing chores for a couple hours and then  taking a nap with no TV and I've been repeating that process all day and it's working today so that's making me feel a little bit better.. I'm bagging up the recyclables now and then I'm gonna make a multi day house salad. All the dishes are done all the laundry is done, I already got a couple rooms cleaned. I just have the kitchen table to clear off, which is pretty piled up with a collection of weekly arm dumps... LOL. The collection of my week's efforts it's paying off.

So what is the name of your form and the other interesting stuff like the meaning. How many forms have you mastered? I think that's so cool. Are you still a bit jealously competitive with your daughter? (I hope that is a safe question to ask...😁... in good nature)

Your test is today right? You'll ace that test, I'm sure. Knock 'em out! And continue to push your anxiety tolerances. I think that's just as impressive as the TKD test..

I’m glad you are starting to feel better and that you have been productive today! That’s such a good feeling! I am just going to sit and relax for a bit. Just got home from TKD. I got my belt and am relieved that it is done!

I am definitely still jealous of my daughter. She’s one of the two best girls in our school with over 100 students. The other girl is also 16 and is a black belt. I try to have realistic expectations for myself but it is hard. I do keep up pretty well with the kids and teens but she’s just SO naturally good at everything.

We know seven forms now. They are:

Chon Ji:

(19 moves, left foot returns) Means literally the Heaven the Earth. It is in the Orient, interpreted as the creation of the world or the beginning of human history; therefore, it is the initial pattern played by the beginner. This pattern consists of two similar parts; one to represent the Heaven and the other the Earth.

Dan Gun:

(21 moves, left foot returns) Is named after the holy Dan-Gun, the legendary founder of Korea in the year of 2,333 B.C.

Do San:

(24 moves, right foot returns) Is the pseudonym of the patriot Ahn Chang-Ho (1876-1938).The 24 movements represent his entire life which he devoted to furthering the education of Korea and its independence movement.

Won Hyo:

(28 moves, right foot returns) Was the noted monk who introduced Buddhism to the Silla Dynasty in the year of 686 A.D.

Yul Gok:

(38 moves, left foot returns) Is the pseudonym of a great philosopher and scholar Yil (1536-1584) nicknamed the "Confucius of Korea". The 38 movements of this pattern refer to his birthplace on 38th degree latitude and the diagram represents scholar.

Joong Gun:

(32 moves, left foot returns) Is named after the patriot Ahn Joong-Gun who assassinated Hiro-Bumo Ito, the first Japanese governor / general of Korea, known as the man who played the leading part in the Korea-Japan merger. There are 32 movements in this pattern to represent Mr. Ahns age when he was executed at Lui-Shung prison (1910).

Toi Gye:

(37 moves, right foot returns)Is the pen name of the noted scholar Yi Hwang (16th century), an authority on neo-Confucianism. The 37 movements of the pattern refer to his birthplace on 37th degrees latitude, the diagram represents "scholar".

I just copied and pasted the info :). You can search them on YouTube to see how they look if you’re bored later 🙂

@Psalm139 (I'm responding to our last conversation. Just a fresh post 😊)

Am I to assume your last Test was the Toi Gue form? I did watch that one on YouTube. Pretty cool! CONGRATULATIONS on passing your test. Good Stuff! 😀 Miss High Blue Belt.... what a great day.

You are responsible for all of your daughters seedlings greatness and where she grows from there, you are instrumental but she is responsible for her growth and I'm sure you are so very proud of her.. And I have to say that probably goes for all your kids.💜

That is really neat about all the history of the forms and stuff like that. I never knew that even though I knew martial arts was very intellectual and it's on right but it's pretty cool to learn that there is a foundation for the forms.

Enjoy your afternoon in your triumph✨🌟

Toi Gye is actually our new form technically but we have known it for a while because we like to know them before we have to practice in class 🙂. He had us do several the forms today though - including that one because he knew we already knew it.

And yes, I am very proud of my daughter! People are constantly telling me how amazing she is. Especially the instructor. Of course I know she is amazing. My oldest son is also very good and his kicks are some of the best in the school too. I bet he could do the splits if he stretched! He doesn’t stretch at all outside of class and is already one of the most flexible boys.

Right now I’m trying to figure out what exercises I want to do to get better before our next belt test. These past few months I’ve been focusing on getting my oversplits for higher kicks. I still need to work on that. I was also lifting weights a little. But I think I might try plyometrics because I’m not great at jumping. That should increase my lower body strength. And ab workouts for better balance. I should probably make myself a schedule!

What have you been up to this afternoon?

@Psalm139

The girl I watched on YouTube was from the 2017 World Championships I think. Instead of yelling out her breathing technique, she hissed like a snake. It was pretty cool.

Do you guys yell out or hiss like snakes?

Remember when we met a couple years ago can you start at TKD, there were several times you weren't sure if you wanted to continue it. I am so impressed that you did. You almost inspire me to take up some classes but at the moment I surely have no time.

So what form of forms did you have to complete or test on today to get you higher blue belt?

I've been feeling a lot more normal this afternoon and because I'm having a hard time sleeping anyway, because of my arm and things on my mind, I figured I'd try to do a hard push into the evening to get some tidbits done for tomorrow.

I just finished redoing 3 dog beds so now I'm gonna make a large house salad and hopefully get the kitchen cleaned up. I'm watching a movie called Assassin's Creed while I'm working in the kitchen.

Good Morning,

How You Feeling? Do your teeth still hurt?

@Psalm139

Hi Morgan. This is Isayuncle (John),

I finally got a listeners account but I didn't get it to be an active listener I got it so that I can talk with some of the friends I've made in the threads. And of course you rate right up there.

How have you been? Are your teeth better? OR gums, I should say 😁

If you'd like to talk with my listener account, that would be awesome. I don't know if I'll make a very good listener but I think I'll be OK as someone to talk to. I'm glad I can finally talk with you this way if you want. 😃
