Utilizing Cognitive thinking in my life

I also found interest in the Thinking (Cognitive Skills) domain. This domain focuses on critical thinking, complexity awareness, etc. I think these two specific skills are important to our inner development. Even outside our inner development, we utilize these skills in our lives by communicating with others, in our classrooms, and much more. I believe I am utilizing critical thinking and complexity of awareness when I am supporting those around me here and in other places. When someone is coming to me about how their feelings and what going on I am doing a couple of things while listening. I am trying to understand their viewpoint and their family’s viewpoint if they share that with me. Additionally, I am trying to understand why what caused them to feel the way they do and how it has been affecting them lately. This helps me to become a better listener and I also use these skills for myself when I am going through my own harsh time or just simply learning about something. For example, when I am feeling hopeless or down I can openly listen to this negative view; I can even try to find evidence on whether it is true or not and I can understand how this negative view is affecting my life. It doesn't have to happen right in the moment of crisis, but I can do this when I am calmer or after I just experienced a bad moment. While the domain touches on much more than critical thinking and complexity awareness, I believe these two are very prevalent in my life.
What is one instance where you had to use your critical thinking skills? What did you do? And how did it go?

I sometimes experience these random negative thoughts that are not actually true. As a coping strategy I pray , journal my thoughts so that I am clear about what exactly I am thinking and then I come up with alternate ways of thinking that will benefit me. It is really fun to do activities like journaling or any hobby when you feel stuck. It really helped me with regulating and managing my emotions

One instance was when I had to take my driving test. I made sure ahead of time I was prepared by studying and not giving up even when times got tough and I wanted to give up. I had tried 3 times, but on my third try I finally passed!
