Embracing the Power of Thought: Exploring the Thinking Dimension of Inner Development
🧠Have you ever found yourself stuck in a rut, unable to see the bigger picture? Our thinking processes are crucial for navigating life's complexities, and embracing the right mindset can make all the difference!
The Thinking dimension of the Inner Development Goals (IDG) framework helps us sharpen our cognitive skills, empowering us to approach challenges with clarity and creativity. Let’s explore how we can enhance our thinking skills together!
🌟 Key Skills in the Thinking Dimension as per the course here include:
Critical Thinking: This isn’t just about finding flaws in arguments; it’s about evaluating information thoughtfully and making informed decisions. 🔍 Challenge yourself: Next time you read an article or watch the news, ask yourself: What evidence supports this claim?
Complexity Awareness: Life is rarely black and white. This skill helps us recognize the nuances in situations and understand that multiple factors may be at play. 🤔 Reflect: How can you embrace the gray areas in your life instead of seeking quick answers?
Perspective Skills: Everyone has their own lens through which they view the world. By seeking to understand contrasting perspectives, we can expand our own understanding. đź‘Ą Think about: Have you had a conversation with someone who has a completely different viewpoint? What did you learn from that experience?
Sense-Making: This skill involves seeing patterns and creating stories from our experiences. It helps us connect the dots and make sense of our journey. 🛤️ Consider: What themes or lessons have emerged from your recent experiences?
Long-Term Orientation and Visioning: This is about looking beyond immediate concerns and envisioning a future that aligns with your values and goals. đź”® Dream big: What kind of life do you want to create for yourself in the next five or ten years?

In particular I want to improve my perspective skills. I find when I'm triggered that I tend to view things through only my lens. I would like to have the calmness to seek contrasting perspectives when emotions are high and have the calmness to expand my understanding in those situations.

Indeed that's a good choice. Do you have any plans or how are you working on it?
