Perseverance and Goals

Perseverance is important in driving change. When trying to reach our goals, there will be successes but there will also be failures. Being able to overcome these failures is an integral part of achieving success.
A time in my life where I showed perseverance was when I needed to study for midterms and finals. I was completely burnt out and did not want to keep studying but I persevered. I kept going and successfully passed my midterms.
In the future, I can set rewards incrementally for myself so it can motivate me to continue reaching my goals.

The stumbles we take pave the path to our triumphs. Every fall teaches us how to rise stronger, every scar reminds us of the battles we've survived, and every failure illuminates the way to future victories@freshRabbit5716

Perseverance allows us to navigate the setbacks of life and to rise after the downs of life as we know that there’s a reason why we want to achieve this goal .
I have personally shown perseverance as I navigated my life in college . Sometimes , I would have setbacks to the point of wanting to give up and I take a step back and remember why I’m there and why I chose this path . I remember my dreams and aspirations and the person I want to become and I navigate the tough moments . Even after getting rejection from programs or job applications, I try again because I know that it’s gonna be okay eventually.

Where have you shown perseverance in your life?
A time when I showed perseverance was when I decided to become a listener on 7 Cups. When I first started, I wasn’t sure if I was cut out for it. Talking to people who were struggling emotionally felt like a lot of pressure, and there were moments where I felt like I wasn’t helping enough or saying the right things. I was tempted to give up because it was tough, but I stuck with it. I kept practicing my listening skills, learning from each conversation, and remembering that just being there for someone can mean a lot. Over time, I became more confident, and now I’m a verified listener, which feels amazing. Even on days when it’s hard, I remind myself that helping someone through their tough time is worth pushing through.
How can you ensure that you will persevere in the future?
In the future, I think I’ll keep using the strategy of setting small, achievable goals. When I face a tough situation, like supporting someone who’s struggling or dealing with my own challenges, I’ll focus on one step at a time instead of getting overwhelmed by the bigger picture. Another thing that helps me is remembering the impact I can have, no matter how small it seems. Just knowing that my effort can make a difference motivates me to keep going. I’ll also try to give myself breaks when I need them—because perseverance isn’t just about pushing nonstop, but about knowing when to rest so I can keep giving my best.
