Writing is a therapeutic hobby.

Has anyone here tried writing as a therapy?

I used to do free writing in the hours of distress. And most of the times it used to work like a miracle for me. So many times, unintentionally, this habit of free writing gave me the solutions to the issues I'd be dealing with. But for a couple of years now, I've been overly occupied with my studies & job related duties. So couldn't find time to do free writing. As a result, I started feeling empty inside as if I haven't talked to myself for such a long time.

Yesterday I did write something and posted it on a new blog of my own. It's neither a masterpiece nor was it written with the intention of getting an audience. But I really feel relieved after doing this.

Yes, couldn't agree more 😊

Whenever I feel so distracted in doing my daily activities, I journal my thoughts and plan soon after I wake up. It helps me get back on track.

7 Cups Academy has Content Development & Marketing program. Where there's a lot of writing exercise related to mental health.

It's totally free, upon graduation you will receive a certificate and eligible to request skill endorsement on LinkedIn.

I love writing! I have so much in mind but not much people around me are a good listener so I write a lot to let out things in my head. It is therapeutic, especially when I have things that is ruminating in my head- writing them down really makes me calm and my head more clear. I can finish a newly bought notebook in a month because I wrote too much haha

Writing is great! I have always liked journaling and writing creatively. I should do that more often this week.

really glad that works for you. For whatever reason around age 18 I stopped getting relief. I just make myself more and more upset by putting it on paper. There are very few solutions to my current stressors other than just manage the stress response.

Yes, it may vary from person to person and from situation to situation. There are times when one thing doesn't work anymore. So what else do you do to relieve your self?
