I had a dream last night I was working in a really old hospital (I have worked in hospitals before but am not currently).

I saw two other staff there that I know are nurses. I was working alongside on who was once a close friend and the other is now my kid’s pre k teacher.

when I went in I saw the pre k teacher and though “oh it’s Jane. She’s working tonight and she’s just done a shift in the nursery. Oh wait no, today is Thursday and she doesn’t work Thursdays. She must work twilight shifts in here on Thursdays. It’s unlikely a full night shift as she should be back to the nursery tomorrow for 8am to work there”.

Anywyay, I got on with my shift. As I was leaving to go home, a blonde haired female patient stumbled towards me from behind a curtain with an abdomen wound and before I could get a chance to realise what was happening, a baby’s head appeared and I realised she was giving birth via emergency caesarean.

I lunged towards her, along with about 15 doctors who appeared from behind the curtain and her mother. Someone caught the baby and we all got the woman back down on the bed to rest. Her mother reassured her and began wiping her daughter’s forehead.

I realised it was a twin bit to via caesarean and two different doctors were holding each squirming screaming baby. Everyone seemed relieved that everything had gone well.

I then went to grab my stuff and was washing my hands before I left and saw rubbish out the back of the hospital. I was annoyed someone would dump debris here. How inconsiderate.

There was a road sign that said “Berkeley” or something beginning with B.

I got public transportation home. The hospital was a Victorian building in a secluded area of woodland with no residential or commercial building nearby. It was on a hill and completely surrounded by acres of really tall trees. You would not see it from the main road down below. The wards were old fashioned nightingale wards and we nursed militantly and old school.
