I noticed that one of my coworkers started saying my name in a funny (not funny) way, which I didn't appreciate because it felt like he was making fun of me - the first few times I ignored it, then it dawned on me that if I ignore it, he's going to think he can be rude. I know it's petty and I should just ignore it but I opt for something better. So I started saying his name in a funny way too...dragging the syllables making his name sound like a "Duhh" It was funny because it took him a minute to realize I was pronouncing his name in a different way and just like that he stopped. When you give people a taste of their own medicine, they get stuck. Quite an accomplishment for someone who tends to ignore other people's bull.
Finally had the courage to accept my weaknesses and the fact that i live behind a facade of being a good person
@Healingwinter03 Hey sometimes being good for the sake of feeling good about yourself is ok too, we all do it.
my friend helped me to decide to anonymously report the guy that sexually harassed me at a recent party i went. and i also gathered courage to ask my friends to help me with the boy i'm into, but i dont think this is gonna work, i'm so ashamed of talking to him or even staring him. and he probably doesn't want me anyway.
@cattyrozignoli don't be afraid of expressing your emotions! It is better to say what you feel and be rejected than to keep your emotions trapped in a cage! Who knows? Maybe he likes you back.
Say what you've never said and what has never happened will happen :)
@caringKiwi65 yeah, maybe, i don't think so though. but i'll try to stay positive and do as you said. maybe something good can happen.
@cattyrozignoli
What's the worst that can happen? he rejects you and you move on! Everything's an experience! Be confident. You're friends will be there for ya either way.
@cattyrozignoli rejection is a big and healthy part to our lives. Without rejection we wont end up where we truly belong. So just share your feelings and if it doesnt work out then you are not meant to be there. Stay strong!
I went to therapy on Tuesday, and Times Square yesterday. This week, I've been focusing on understanding my needs, and that I deserve happiness, despite the rut I've been in as of late. Depression can be a comforting place, but I can no longer think this way. It's time to get out there and live my life!
@justlikeheaven27 great thought
