Hello everybody!

My name is Andrew and I am a listener here on 7 Cups of Tea. I just found this forum section and thought it would be a great opportunity to start to get involved in conversation with other gamers.

So my question to you is: what are your favorite video games and why are they your favorite? They can be for any system, including the system in your response would be even more awesome! I personally game on my PS3 and my recently bought PS4.

Here is a list of some of the games I like to play:

Grand Theft Auto V - Though this game has violent aspects to it, I really love the online play. The constant competition is something that keeps me busy and the race for money and power keeps me intrigued. I really love the immense amount of customization and immersement that the game allows because I can truly enjoy role playing in that whole world. I recently started playing on PS4 which opened it up to so much more and I really do enjoy it.

Battlefield 3 - While this may be a bit outdated with the releases of Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1, I still really love this game. I still play on the PS3 so the servers are not always full but the maps and the gameplay are really fun. I love the teamwork that is in Battlefield as a whole and the actual tactic used as opposed to the wild play of other games like Call of Duty.

Fallout 4 - I have not actually played this game a ton yet but I enjoy what I've done so far. I played a bit with a friend on his system and liked the gameplay so I bought it when I got my PS4. I tried it with some of the mods but I am going to stick to normal, vanilla gameplay for now to just see how the game goes.

Counter Strike: Global Offensive - I actually play this game on PC but I don't have a great one so I don't get to play often. I find the playerbase hilarious and I think it is just a fun fps game.

Little Big Planet 2- This is the final one on the list, I have this game for PS3 and I have to say, I really enjoy playing the custom maps people do. They tend to put a lot of work and humor into it which just makes it a fun game to play in my spare time.

I am excited to hear from you all about your favorites!

~ Andrew

I don't have a lot of time to play video games but when I do I turn to:

- the Starcraft series (Blizzard): I absolutely love those games, maybe because I grew up watching my dad play them, and he'd let me "copilot" (a glorious way to say I'd sit next to him and point out everything I saw) so it's a bit nostalgic and comforting to play Starcraft, and I find that switching between species is interesting and gradually builds up my strategy for each of them even when I'm playing another

- Fire Department, (from Monte Cristo Multimedia): unfortunately I doubt anyone knows it, the company went out of business a long time ago... the first set of games I played completely, my dad had me start gaming with those because it wasn't about destroying the enemy base and killing the opponent, instead your goal was to save lives and limit damage, and your units weren't "disposable" like in so many other games. Pure nostalgia and I enjoy the change of objective every once in a while.

- GRAW2: Another game I'd see my dad playing, and the first FPS I ever played (a common denominator in this list is nostalgia apparently). I love the aspect of managing your team, and the fact that no, it's not "stealth optional". Focusing on being stealthy, setting up with a good vantage point and sniping really helps me get my mind off of everything else, and it can be a good way to take out my frustration.

- Need for Speed, Hot pursuit: once again it's a bit of nostalgia, otherwise either it's the rush of adrenaline and satisfaction from the rapid response missions weaving through traffic and acing a drift, or it's just the chill feeling of taking one of those cars out for a spin (enjoying the scenery, the mountains for drifting over and over again, the beach for a bit more of a chill time rolling down the hills...)

My favorite video games are Splatoon and Animal Crossing. People don't understand why I love Animal Crossing. I've been playing that game since Wild World. The music for one is soothing to me. Also I grew attached to the villagers. I mean how can you not? I've also been playing choose your own adventure games. I like a game with a good story too.

Pokémon franchise. It’s the few games I really play and I don’t mind the repetition and simplicity of the games. I really enjoy the simple /small aspects of the games like the mini games, art, story, and music. I have a lot of fond memories with the franchise and it’s comforting to pick up a game and not feel like I have to have 100% focus and just have a simple goal to adhere too. My favorite is heart gold/soul silver since those remakes are jam packed with stuff to do.

Minecraft- I like the style of it, blocky and pixelated. It’s a generally calming and peaceful game (with the acception of some destructive and somewhat scary mobs) with a fun and challenging goal (in survival) and a lot of possibilities and creative freedom (in creative, or survival if you’re good enough)

Animal Crossing is also pretty fun, but I can’t just sit down and play that for as long as I can play Minecraft in one sitting

My favorites are Fortnite and League of Legends. I prefer to play them on my phone and I always use Mistplay as it's a convenient app. Sometimes it doesn't work properly, but their customer service is always ready to help with any problems.

The Beginner's Guide: I don't know how to describe. There was something about it very human. I could relate to the narrative and it was a soul warming experience.

The Stanley Parable: Fun, and it's nice to play when feeling lonely.

Portal 2: Mostly I enjoyed the story, the characters, the scenery, the trepidation when speeding through portals.

Skyrim: Massive world, lots of characters and stories. Different ways to play. So much to discover. Great music

I love WoW, it's really fun and easy to play, I also love the graphics. I have recently optimized my PC with the help of https://upgrader.gg/en/, so now I can play without lags and problems.
