Character Creation
I tend to spend more time in the character creation/customization menu in video games than I do playing the real thing.
When my fiancé and I were sick with Covid, we had nothing to do so we played Monster Hunter: Rise constantly. So, after a while I rediscovered the customization menu-- turns out you can make your character's face an unrecognizable, neon blob.
Needles to say, I spent at least two hours trying to find new ways to break the game before I realized I hadn't fought one monster the whole time.
What are your favorite games with character creator menus? What's the wildest character you've created?
@battybee
That sounds amazingly fun, just playing with knobs and sliders and finding ways of breaking the game in creative ways. 😊
I haven't played video games in a while, but I love character creation screens in general. I tend to use them more normally though, haha. When I used to play a few MMOs with a friend of mine, he'd breeze through the creation screens in 5-10 minutes while I'd find myself spending an hour or more deliberating over really important, life-changing decisions like which hairstyle I should get or which facial expression I should have.
OMG YESS
MMO character creation is all I need to be entertained. I could do it for hours lol!
Speaking of MMOs, which ones have you played?
@battybee
I prefer not paying for stuff and my friend is into nerdy stuff, so we tried some free ones (Lord of the Rings Online, Star Wars: The Old Republic).
It's just such a thrill to be someone else for a little while and be able to change the way I look so easily and with so much subtle customization. I feel like a painter doing color mixing to get the exact shade I want. 💜
This is why I play D&D. I have created way more characters than I could ever play.
And why I've gotten into doll games where you are basically just dressing up.
