...See more Hobbies Help Our Mental Health! Mental health and self-care are intricately linked, and engaging in hobbies can be a powerful tool to support both.  Hobbies are very personal. Each of us likes and chooses something different for our hobbies, and the choice we make can however affect our mental health. Some hobbies can actually raise our stress and frustration levels, especially worrying about getting something right. The painter that can’t capture the painting they want, or the musician that needs to practice for hours every day. So choosing the right hobby for the right time can help to improve our mental health. Having a mix of relaxing and energetic, mindful and chaotic can all help to ease the stresses and pressures of our lives.  Here are a few hobbies known to benefit mental health:-: * Art Therapy: Engaging in artistic activities such as drawing, painting, or sculpting can promote relaxation and self-expression, which are beneficial for managing stress and improving mood. A study published in the Journal of the American Art Therapy Association found that art therapy can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. Research published in the Journal of Health Psychology suggests that gardening can promote mood enhancement and stress reduction. ...See more This is Motivational March and so I wanted to discuss with you about your hobbies and what motivates you to get started! Often I find it hard to motivate myself and so I might look at doing other things for a while. If I am in a 'hobby slump' and just want to find another project then that is exactly what I do. So often I might have many 'WIP' work in progress. I also know sometimes I look at all my yarn and knitting needles and groan! I love knitting but sometimes I just want to watch tv! I found my mojo when I wanted a new beanie hat, it was something I could easily knit AND watch tv lol! And, of course I got a warm hat :) So please take a moment to answer the following questions, of perhaps just read and think about them. ? ...See more So this is my legacy Family Photo  The sims family is not in any particular order,  but the 2 sims which are Centered on the couch are Gen 7 Jane Oliva Grace Swanson, and her husband-to-be, Henry Guion,   On our left (her right) is the founder Clarissa (Saree) and  her husband Bai Swanson on the other side of Jane and Henry is America Swanson and her own Mom, Hannah Swanson with on the floor sitting Jacob and David Swanson, Hannah's (Gen 2) and America's (Gen 3) husbands. The only woman without a partner really in this picture is behind America and Hannah,  She's Elizabeth Swanson (Gen 4). on the far right is Juliet Swanson, (Gen 5) with her husband Romeo Swanson on the far middle left. The last two sims are Selene Swanson and her husband Jay Swanson-Jane's own parents.  Here's a labelled photo so you know who is who:   With the exception of the bride outfit, there's a reason I have the sims wear paritcular clothing so if you want to know just ask!

...See more Although no one has answered my question from my other thread if whether photos/drawings of myself are allowed here on 7 Cups or not, I'll just post one drawing of me, with my team of Pokemon. What do you think of this pic? Is it nice? :) I made this using the Pokemon Trainer Creator flash game on a place called NuMuKi. They even have other cool Pokemon flash games I enjoy too, such as Delphox's Fiery Escape (works very similar to breakout) and Eevee's Tile Trial, which I would highly recommend checking out if you haven't played those before. They help kill the time as well. ^^

Also I have two questions to ask, which I should know the answers for (since I haven't read 7 Cups's guidelines yet): 1. Is it possible to post GIF pics and have them animated? I mean, is there not even a way to choose any GIF pic I like, rather than only the ones from tenor? For some reason, picking a GIF from my offline collection is not supported... Which is odd, since other sites allow it otherwise as well. :O 2. Is it OK for me to post pictures of myself on this site (whether as real photos or drawings that represent me)? You see, I also have paid commission arts of myself with Pokemon together, so I was wondering, can they be shown on this site? I think it would be great if that was allowed, so I can further spread my passion on the Pokemon series, along with the fact that I enjoy seeing myself interacting with characters because it's special to me.

...See more Whenever I feel anxious all I have to do is hear the soothing soundtrack of Minecraft and Im helped back on my course. Many hours have been spent not touching the controller and simply being idle in the video game while I visit some of my darker feelings. Its comforting hearing the happy little villagers hum their tune as they farm around me.

Hobby Zone is a friendly, relaxing, and safe space where we do not expect to have triggery, or triggering artwork, writing, poetry, or other contributions.

  • You can start a Hobby Journal or join in with seeing what others are up to.

  • You can post your artwork but please make sure it is teen suitable and adheres to 7 Cups guidelines so appropriate attire and content. Please start your own thread and keep ALL artwork in that thread. This will mean that your thread gains upvotes/hearts and will notify everyone when a new post is made.

  • You can share your poetry or writing but again please make sure that it is suitable for an emotional support site and is not triggering. If in doubt then please ask a community leader, the names can be found under this 'About' tab below. Please start your own thread and keep ALL writing & poetry work in that thread. This will mean that your thread gains upvotes/hearts and will notify everyone when a new post is made.
