Sleep hygiene

I wonder if anyone has trouble staying asleep? I take meds to sleep and for my mental condition but after three hours I wake up. Any tips to sleep better and stay asleep?

Hi there~ 

Sounds like you are having quite the issue with staying asleep even in light of taking medications to help…. (And perhaps others here might be dealing with the same thing & respond on their experiences)…. 

But since you are however dealing with this issue, while taking the meds, you didn’t mention if you have discussed these concerns with your healthcare provider that’s prescribing them? And I’d recommend & suggest that be the next step if you haven’t already done so. As there can be various issues regarding the medications or the effects of it on your personal body chemistry. 

Also you haven’t discussed your bedtime rituals, what your bedtime routine consist of or what your activity levels are throughout the day?.… such as if you are getting enough activity, or perhaps getting activity too close to bed time, or how late you might eat dinner before bed time… etc…etc.. as there are SOO many other factors that can play into & interrupt sleep as well!
