How to not take things personally

Blueaura32 February 26th

Perception is projection.

Now what does that mean you may ask?

Well, the way someone sees themselves or their heart is how they will see everyone else around them.

If somebody does not have a good relationship with themselves, they will most likely be unable to have good relationships with other people.

This is because what we perceive is a reflection of our own inner realities .

If we are happy and content with ourselves, we have the desire to make others feel the same way,

however if we are not, we will bring others down to a lower level, sometimes even without knowing it.

It is tempting to use our achievements, appearance and other people's opinions to fuel our own superficial sense of self.

Every time we take something personally we project the message to ourselves that other people hold the power to make us feel good or bad.

When that should be determined by ourselves and ourselves only. Everyone is going through situations.

And everyone has a choice.

They can choose to project their problems onto you or not.

They can choose to act a certain way that does not align with how you would act.

And it has absolutely nothing to do with you.

To not take things personally is to be balanced.

Know your sense of self worth,

be kind but don't take in things that are not your responsibility.

When you can understand that external reactions to a situation are not you,

you will be free from taking it personally, it won't affect you.
