Howdy everyone. What’s your favourite dish to eat? What’s your best dish that you can cook?

I’m not sure if I have a favourite dish perse, but I do love both Mexican and Asian/Pacific Islander food!

As for my best dish? I get the most compliments on my red rice, fideo, and egg rolls.

I want to try a new challenge and try new recipes either daily, or at least once or twice a week until I get used to it or better my recipes?

My goal is to start eating healthier and more frequently. I have a hard time gaining wait after experiencing some traumatic events… I’ve always had a hard time gaining weight when I was young and didn’t have an appetite at all. Then I get fit, then skinny/not in shape, fit again, back to lanky bones, etc….

I hope cooking more would also help me appreciate food more and help me save money in the long run.

What are y’all’s food goals?

Ooof! Birria tacos are amazing.~

Do you cook warm or cold pasta? I used to not know that cold pasts existed for nearly 2 decades until it was offered to me one day, haha.

Same...I've been eating out too much lately and you know what the sad part is? I don't even enjoy the food...

Not sure if it's depression, a food disorder or because I've been experiencing one traumatic event after another. It's difficult for me to eat. I have to force myself sometimes, and I feel sick after. The only way I eat is if I...smoke greens or eat edibles...it increases my hunger and everything tastes good. But normally? I don't really enjoy eating.

I want to be able to eat normal without having to take something to force myself to eat...

Anywho!

Thank you for your reply, hope your day is going smoothly and that you're eating some delicious pasta or birria tacos! :-)

I feel healthy cooking/eating can be such fun and flavorful.

My favorite healthy dish is Millet crepes with a crunchy salad/mango salsa, yogurt, and mint chutney, trust me it's yummmm and I am not depriving myself in any way.

I love to cook Italian, Chinese and Thai dishes... dear lord it's so difficult to pick what I cook best... well I'll pick my healthy and riot of flavors 9 Jewel Soup. I love it because it's wholesome, a complete dish and so delicious.

Will make it for dinner tomorrow !!!

Hi @RideaRainbow,

Ooof, it's been so long since I've had crêpes!

I eat mine boring and plain-jane. All I put is some hazelnut spread and if I feel like "jazzing it up" I added bananas, but only if I'm in the mood lol.

Have not heard of millet crêpes or 9 jewel soup before. I tried looking it up but it shows a fastfood restaurant for millet crêpes and I just get regular soup results for jewel soup...Maybe it's the search engine I'm using.

What is millet crêpe and 9 jewel soup?

@ImpudentIncognito

Actually, it's an Indian dish, a savory we traditionally made of rice n lentil batter but now that we are told that millets are healthy we have started modifying our dishes... I think i used Foxtail millet.

The nine jewel soup is a clear soup with all the Chinese veges sauted thrown in. The seasoning is of salt, tarragon vinegar, lemon juice, and a cup full of freshly chopped cilantro. I think the General Motor diet calls it the Magic soup but i have been making it for decades.

My favourite dish is around breakfast time

I scramble 2 eggs with olive oil.

Add salt and pepper to the eggs

Then I cut a small salad that consiste of 1 tomato 1 cucumber and if in season: half an avocado

I side this dish with any 5% - 3% fat dairy product

And I usually eat this all with 2 long crackers

My food goal is mainly to eat satisfying filling healthy meals so I won't find myself snacking a lot in between 😁

That sounds delicious! I quite enjoy any dish with eggs in it. That is a good goal to have! I'm still having a hard time eating. I might transition to eating (many) small meals throughout the day (like 6 small proportions) vs only 1-2 big meals...because I get overwhelmed and sometimes I don't even finish my meal. I eat maybe one meal a day and then a small snack...I don't eat a very healthy amount, I need to in order to gain weight since I'm currently underweight.

I make a homemade soup with hamburger (or turkey), peppers, onions, carrots and microwaveable brown rice. I use low sodium tomato juice as a base and then add spices, as needed. One thing I like about this recipe is that it feels like balanced nutrition, which is often not so easy to achieve. 😊
