Trying to kick carbs :(
So I love carbs...and I try and try and try to give them up, but they call my name whenever I see them and I cannot resist 😅
With a new month coming up soon, I am determined to do this and stick to it. So, please help with any ideas or suggestions for how you were able to eliminate or minimize carbs in your diet.
Thank you for your support ❤️
This showed up in my messages. This thread is a bit old but I wanted to share that I'm trying to cut down on carbs too. I guess the first step is cut out bad carbs. For me its snacking that's my biggest downfall. I still buy them but I'm working on cutting way, way down on how much I eat. I don't sit down to a whole bag of chips anymore. So I don't feel deprived, I'll just eat a few. Put the rest in an air tight bag to keep them fresh and crispy. Then I tell myself I can have a few every day, (if I want them). And I guess this is mindful eating...... I pay attention to the taste the feel of the crunch and tell myself "a few are enough until tomorrow."
Another thing I do is try not to get too hungry. Fat is what satiates that hunger feeling. I keep plain walnuts or pecans on hand to eat one or two once in a while when I feel hungry and tempted to eat something I shouldn't because of those ole' pangs.
The last thing I'd recommend is don't let yourself get really hungry. It's really hard to avoid those old cravings when you are feeling like you are starving. I have to admit, it's at these times I threw the whole thing out the window and chowed down on my snacking carbs. I'm doing better now. Emotional eating can cause that too. So instead of cramming something into your mouth that you know you shouldn't be eating, come to 7 Cups and talk to someone. Wish you the best!! ❤️😊
Restricting is not an option, coming from a recovering EATING DISORDER struck person, its better if you incorporate small portions of carbs everyday. So u don't one day jump into it and consume more than required. Remember the more you miss it, the more you'll crave it

I tried it but it's hard really hahaha. Especially I live in an Asian country where rice is part of our daily meal haha. I think I was able to do it for a month straight lessening the carb.
Good luck to you. Determination is the key. I know you can do it.
