So I love carbs...and I try and try and try to give them up, but they call my name whenever I see them and I cannot resist 😅

With a new month coming up soon, I am determined to do this and stick to it. So, please help with any ideas or suggestions for how you were able to eliminate or minimize carbs in your diet.

Thank you for your support ❤️

Hey! I am glad to know that you are working on yourself. If you want to lose weight, that's fine, but it must be done in a healthy way. You may not know that, but cutting carbohydrates out of your diet is NOT healthy, they are our main source of energy. There are no foods that make you fat or lose weight: all foods must be inserted in the right proportions. If you have the opportunity, you may want to consider consulting a nutritionist - DIY diets are often harmful. Take care!

@Lifeonmars787 I agree with this. Carbohydrates are a macronutrient. If looking to do something like ketosis it really does need medical supervision as there are some big risks and it can be difficult to maintain the correct amount alone.

When you say carbs, do you mean flour and sugar, or you need all carbs? The thing is, there are different kinds of carbs, some are good for you, some aren’t. If you are talking about cutting all flour byproduct and sugar kinda bad carbs, go for it! Just don’t over think and allow yourself time for adjustment. You can do it! Choose food that you can see it’s original form, cut anything that are processed. 👍🏻 Best of luck

I decided to exclude junk food, sugar, bakery products, and alcohol from my nutrition 2 years ago. I lost 15 kg and my well-being improved but sometimes I have cheat meals. I can order a pizza [removed[ or go to McDonald's but it happens rarely. I believe it's important to keep a healthy diet but hard limits are not the best option.

Doing a low carb diet is one of the easiest ways to lose weight, until you are no longer eating low carb and then the weight comes back with a vengeance.

That being said, there are a lot of healthy carbs out there and also a lot of good replacements for carbs we eat...zucchini spaghetti instead of regular pasta, cauliflower instead of rice or potatoes, and many other options.

You have to give yourself time, though, like be diligent for at least 3 weeks, because then it will get easier. There is also a lot of information online. Look for information about macros, because that's really important.

Hi!
I understand it's really hard to stick to diets sometimes. My journey has been one where I lost 50 lbs, kept it off for two years, and then gained 150, and I'm on the path to losing it again. It can be tough, but it gets easier the longer you do it. I've found that the main thing that helped me is not to think of it as a diet, but to think of it as a lifestyle change. It helps me to feel less constricted. Also, I actually think low carb diets are a great way to lose weight, one suggestion however, is to have two days a week where you are eating low-fat days and higher healthy/plant-based carbs. Switching up the focus of which fuel for your body to burn that day keeps your metabolism active so that when you've lost the weight you want to, it's harder to gain it back. For those two years I kept the weight off, I was eating a healthy balance of plant-based foods with healthy fats. It's completely doable. I believe in you!
(P.S. Sorry this is so long lol)

@halcyonCloud2036 Hello! I am trying to do a diet too since last year. I really tried my best to not eat some carbs but it's not really easy. So what I did, I scheduled myself that I am going to eat it so often. Atleast 3x a week until I get to lost it. You may try it too, I know it's not easy at first. But I know you can do it by a slow process. Hope this message helps you well.

I thought this was crabs and I got confused. Don't listen to the comments. Nutrition isn't an exact science. Some people's body responds very well to carbs. Some people do horrible. Losing weight is mostly about calories in vs calories out. Wish you the most luck.

May I ask why you want to kick carbs? Maybe switching to complex carbs, found in fruits and vegetables, whole grains and legumes would be a better place to start.

Cutting out a food group is incredibly difficult and often sets us up to fail as your body will crave what it is missing. Simple steps and habit stacking is often a slower but steadier way to make the changes we desire.
