Staying happy through transitions

How do you guys stay happy through this journey of life? How do I overcome all or nothing thinking ? I feel like I’m only happy unless I reach a destination. Like I’m either at my goal and dream life and happy , or I’m not happy at all and in despair.

@barbiejoo23 Finding peace in all situations can definitely be a challenge. Celebrating the small things is sometimes helpful. Finding ways to acknowledge the good moments can help, too. It's hard to make suggestions, since it's different for everyone, the things that motivate them. I keep a positivity journal and it was hard at first but has gotten way easier over time. Setting small, achievable goals instead of really hard-to-reach ones is also a way to stay motivated, which can help us feel more ready to face each day. Like, instead of promising myself I'll walk a mile every day, I just set the goal for twice a week, until that is a habit. If I only walked once during the week, I celebrate that I met half of the goal, instead of being mad at myself for not getting the second walk completed. It helps me to keep going.
