How do you practice self-care?
I draw, play with my dog and watch videos online
Right now I'm acutely sick. So rest, taking even more medications that usual, careful throat monitoring for swelling so that I can hopefully catch and treat any swelling attacks before they get really bad and maintaining my medication and related products supply.
Self-care is something of a trial and error. some things work while others don't.

Self care for me can come in many variations... For instance what I'm doing now, being online, browsing, surfing etc... is a form of self-care for me as I turn off the real world, and see what else is going on (through emails, 7cups, social media etc..)
Other things I like to do are take drives, go shopping or simply being near water. (Whether it be the pool, the Beach or simply taking my dog to the Lake for a walk and enjoying the scenery).....
To snuggling up and watching a good moving with my spouse (and dog too) lol
@ILSBstruckXx I'm realizing that self care can take many forms.
It can be talking to a friend who makes me feel seen, going to a yoga class or even brushing my teeth. Sometimes when I get into a tailspin I remind myself of the little ways I can show myself compassion (ie self care). If washing my hair seems to hard today maybe focus on the success of brushing my teeth. It helps when I'm doing these things to acknowledge them as self care. For example I ask myself how I can show myself compassion in a moment and if it's drinking a cup of tea then as I'm making the tea I try to say to myself "you are showing yourself the love you deserve by taking time to enjoy this cup of tea". It also helps to fight off ruminatory thoughts and replace them with more present awareness ones.
By Giving myself proper sleep
i used to practice it by writing my thoughts
then i knew that writing thoughts is one of the self care practices
