On buildung a community
Hi everyone,
Lately I've bugged with a question in my head where I feel I could use some input/thoughts/ideas/doubts from all of you =)
What is a community and how do you build one?
(this really feels like the right place to be asking these questions!)
For the last couple of years I felt like I had one in the new place I'm living but all of a sudden it has dropped. Since I live far from home and my family is spread all over the world it's hard to get this community feeling back.
I red an article saying there are 4 ingredients to building up a community:
- shared history (I guess time spent together doing meaningful things)
- presence (being there, commitment, short term)
- permanence (more of a personal commitment to help and ask for help in the long-term)
- shared imagination (I belive that's sharing a common goal).
As you may have notice I still have some doubts about what it all really means and how can this be paired up with a nomadic lifestyle I had until now.
Also, these are all good intentions but what do you do with the bad apples that you inevitably find along the way?
Big hughs!
@Aputik gives you a hug back ❤ I'm not sure what to say it suggest. I've never been part of a good community except 7 cups so sorry I'm not able to help. But I'm able to give you a bigg comforting hug
