Introducing: Team Lead - Room Supporters /Chatroom Moderators
Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well.
I am excited to roll out the Team Lead role for Chat Room Moderators and Room Supporters.
The goal of this role is to provide an additional layer of support to the room supporters and chat room moderators so they could feel more empowered and supported in their roles and we are able to support the members in the chatroom in an improved and well-equipped way.
Point to be noted: It is a different role from the Support Team Leader role. This role is introduced with the hope to bring more support for the Support Room Mentors and Room Supporters/ Chat room Moderators.
The difference between the two is that the Support Team Leader oversees the activities and team of a specific support team. Team Lead of either Room Supporter /Chatroom Moderator will oversee & support all chat room moderators or room supporters regardless of what support team they belong to.
Mod Lead Role
Expectations
- Run a bi-weekly meeting with the team to problem solve challenges
- Communicate and coordinate the support team needs with Support Team Leaders
- Host weekly mod discussion
- Lead the Mod Discussion Team
- Check-ins with the mod team and support them
- Develop resources/ discussion scripts to meet the needs of the mod team
- Help the Group Support Team in strengthening & improving the chatrooms
Criteria to be a Lead Mod
- Either a Global mod for at least a month OR a community-centered moderator for at least 2 months
Room Supporter Lead
Expectations
- Run a bi-weekly meeting with the team to problem solve challenges
- Communicate and coordinate the support team needs with Support Team Leaders
- Host weekly Room supporter discussion
- Lead the Room Supporter Discussion Team
- Check-ins with the room support team and support them
- Develop resources/ discussion scripts to meet the needs of the room support team
- Help the Group Support Team in strengthening & improving the chatrooms
Criteria to be a Lead Room Supporter
- Room Supporter for at least a month

The difference is that the Support Team Leader is centered in a SubCommunity and this role is global? Or this one is Sub-Community centered too?
