Hi everyone,

I lost my mom to dementia last September. I was standing over her along with the caregiver when she passed. I saw her take her last breath. It was unexpected, I thought she'd make it a while longer as family was coming. It was just me. I had been coming up for a week every month for years to give my dad time off. Everyone says I was strong. The dam broke in January and I have delayed grief. Fear, depression, crying. I'm stuck.

Meditation is the only thing that turns down the volume a bit and gives me a small break. It was so hard at first and really frustrating to meditate but i couldn't take the pain, I still am hurting on a crazy level but when I meditate there is some peace and I'm grateful for any peace. I've read a lot about how meditation has helped people tremendously with all sorts of struggles and it does make a difference, even 5 minutes.
