Grief & Loss Check-in: Sept 16 - Sept 30
Hey everyone. Welcome to the check-in for the second half of September. Here, in this thread, is a safe place for anyone grieving to come to and share. Grief is something we all have gone through and experienced at one point of our lives. It has many forms; and there is no wrong and right way to grieve.
@YourCaringConfidant i lost my great grandmother in 2020 due to natural causes, the nurses told me she didn't feel pain so i glad about that. My grandmother kept the family together, we spent almost every holiday at her house and we have a pretty big family. its been hard since she left this world and our family is falling apart. the grief sneaks up on me in school, at home, in the grocery store, when i shower or even when im simply sitting there drowning in my thoughts of regrets. I regret not visiting her as often or paying attention to her stories. grandmas are so precious and i wish i could've bought her more time here. she was a survivor of residential school, a school created to completely wipe out the indigenous culture, im alive because she survived. i feel sorry for those whos life was impacted by those awful schools. i miss my grandma so much, she was safe place when my parents would be out drinking and partying. she taught me a lot. i hope she can come visit me in my dreams soon.
@tmariee23 "Grandmas are so precious." If I could, I would β‘ that x100 because that's the truth. While I am so sorry to hear that you are hurting and missing your grandma, I do appreciate that you mentioned her. There's no doubt in my mind that she was an amazing, beautiful, loving, strong, wonderous grandma. How blessed you are to have someone like her in your life. I know it's been a few years since she left this world and it doesn't make it hurt any less but I do hope that you always hold onto the good times and memories of such a beautiful soul. β‘ I bet your grandma knew you loved her-- after all, grandmas are special and precious like that. Sending a hug your way. Xoxo.
@YourCaringConfidant thank you <3
