Define Happiness
For myself: There are a thousand paths to happiness ~~ I think the moment you commit yourself to allowing happiness into your life it will be followed by a string of events that otherwise would not have happened. Happiness cannot be found by following other people. Find your own way. There is no wrong time for happines. Relax and it will appear. Happiness lies in becoming unafraid of change. I think of happiness as a kind of mental gardening. Its in the warm summer sun, its near you when your light is low and when your faith is dry. Happiness path is paved with your dreams and desires - down this path lies, creativity, love, and a long life. A happy moment soon dies and never returns in an identical form, but that doesn't mean there aren't equally happy moments ahead -- just new ones !! This is how I define Happiness how do you ??
Happiness is something you have to define yourself. You can't have someone telling you what your happiness is. They can guide you through it but it's only you.
My definition of happiness is when something goes right and many things are working well making your heart satisfied or complete. The warm feeling that you get for many reasons. It can be caused by making people smile. Something you accomplished yourself or with others.
to me, happiness if feeling a warm feeling inside even when it's cold outside. it reassures you that you can get through any though time and you are a strong individual and you should never doubt yourself. you know you're self more than anyone and that is the best advice to give anyone :)
@kittie3 I like when you said happiness is when you are unafraid of change. Being w/in a comfort zone is fear and hostility and paranoia, correct? I can only stay w/in my comfort zone .. still working on change.
Happiness is feeling at peace inside ✖️no matter what tragedy is current. To refuse to let negativity control you and to always find something to be thankful for, ✖️no matter how small.
For me, happiness has always been a word for an emotion. Emotions come and go, and it seems like only about half the time I can actually influence them by changing my thoughts. (I mean, I can reduce anger or anxiety by checking my assumptions, but I cannot create happiness consistently.) What I find consistent for me, though, is that if I pursue something that is important and meaningful to me, and I enjoy that, but I don't worry about what emotion comes from it, more often then not it is happiness or joy or contentment. Sometimes that pursuing is something as simple as remembering that I have a great relationship with that one, loved person. Sometimes it is more complex and involves doing things for days, months, or years.
This quote speaks to me most about what I mean: "When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy." I do admit a pre-existing bias to liking Rumi's prose generally speaking. :)
